Does anybody else think a change from the Cross country train picture at the top of the forum is due?

I feel a change might be nice...….what would you like to see replace it (if the admins felt the same and agreed to a change obviously )

Modern or Old traction? Bright colours or classic black and white?

I'd perhaps like to see an HST, seeing as they're beginning to leave us. For something more recognisable and iconic, maybe Mallard or the Flying Scotsman?

I'm still quite new to the forum, how long has that Voyager been there?

The Forum header is meant to reflect the cutting edge of technology! We don't want any rubbish from the previous century up there!!

Nor me if I am honest, but trying not to upset the "older" forum members who may not feel the same. I was trying to be very impartial.....but yes more modern was my thinking too!!

It was there when I first registered nearly 4 years ago (yes it has been that long  ).

Maybe a competition for a new one?

I'll be honest the main reason I suggest this is because I feel anger everytime I see a cross country. Never a good experience ever...…. trains, price, staff, all generally disappointing

If the forum staff are happy for a change, perhaps a yearly poll with the header image changed every New Year based on the winner of the poll?

A very good idea, I think.

On a point of order... the 220s started being built in 2000, which was the last year of the 20th Century, and given that people do argue over the 2000 / 2001 thing, they would certainly have had to have been designed before they were built, so they are a product of the last century...;)

I think the current header is entirely appropriate, as the forums favourite traction after all.

:lol::lol::lol:

Seriously though, can easily include a status quo option as well, but I'd prefer to always change the header each year for something different to the present one.

People are always so mean to Voyagers. I'm certain they wouldn't get the same amount of hate if they were double the length they are now. They're fast, reliable and Virgin's ones can tilt. So I'd say they fit the "cutting edge of technology" description.

I vote for a TPE 68. Definitely not the 'wrong end' of the train!

I always view in portrait mode on a tablet, so I had no idea we had a header photo till now!
If we go with a yearly change (obviously in December, except when it is delayed till May), then I'd start with the repainted HST when it appears.

Before the forum moved over to the new platform, it was possible to choose the header image. I can't remember what the others were, but I had a ScotRail 170 displayed.

No No No.
We need to read between the lines, what @ainsworth74 isn’t saying here is that it has to be the LEAST liked train on the network...
Class 68s are far too popular. And even Pacers have a cult following these days.
What do people really hate though?
I think we need a picture of a seat from an IET as the next forum header. ;)

How about a picture of, in no particular order

A delay-repay refusal letter
Chris Grayling
A passenger being told to unplug their phone from a station socket
A youth with his feet on a seat
A line of abandoned passengers on a Northern platform
A Real Time Trains screenshot showing the Caledonian Sleeper 112L
A vandalised TVM with a pile of Promise to Pay cards lying in front of it

I wouldn't mind seeing the TfW 37 in its nice new shiny BR Blue paint job with the MkII's trailing behind.
