1136 Yarmouth and now 1706 cancelled to due to unit issues
Be careful what you wish for in addition to the Felixstowe branch suspension the 1600 IPS-PBO and return have been cancelled as have the 1706 NRW - GYM and 17:22 NRW-CBG and returns too. Stansted services have been curtailed at Cambridge for most of the day, though that might be due to signal problems earlier and lastly is only one 745 out as the 16:30 NRW-LST and 19:02 return are also cancelled?

That was 745007. 745010 is out working both the 1230 and 1730 ex Norwich today.

a train hitting a car on a level crossing, because the "systems" werent picking it up properly anymore, might be a bit more than an annoyance for all involved, fortunately it was only a nearly incident instead

The 0540 Colchester to Peterborough was caped at Ely due to a 'train fault'. Not enough diesel again?
Terminated at Ipswich this morning.

The 05.40 Colchester to Peterborough has taken over from the 07.50 Parkeston to Cambridge for reliability.

There are a few sitting outside Cambridge with no permission for passenger service, plus two that are still in Switzerland. With more than 26 units to operate the current service, it doesn't look like there is a rush, more focus is being put into 745 admittance and acceptance. Someone correct me if wrong but there are about 29 authorized with two in CH and the other 7 still at Cambridge/MNR.

How many required each day for the current timetable? Is the Peterboro service going hourly at some point?

There is no planned date for hourly Peterboroughs.
If I read it correctly it's 19 daily.

That sounds too low, bearing in mind the legacy fleet was 26 diesel units.
If they really only need 19 units out of 31 cleared for service and they are still cancelling the Felixstowe line due to lack of units then it speaks volumes about how poor the reliability of the units must be.
I honestly don't believe the reliability is that bad so up to 12 are out of service at once, so the PVR must be higher than 19.

I'm sure I remember reading it was 22 somewhere, back before the 755s had been introduced.

All been muddled at the moment due to the Wherry line blockades. Maybe 19 was last week before Yarmouth reopened. It's all getting rather confusing & the days just merge into one.

Before the days of 37s, 68s and all sorts of other issues, the Crown Point DMU fleet was diagrammed:

So that was a total of 23 diagrams from a fleet of 26.
The only significant timetable change since those days has been the extension of the Norwich to Cambridge service to Stansted Airport requiring a further 2 diagrams.
There is the well documented lower fuel range of a class 755, but don’t know whether that results in further diagrams while units go for a drink.

after recent events surrounding such things, but the travelling public are, of course now fed up with 'unit fault' day in, day out with the new units, one would have thought someone, be it GA or Stadler ,DfT / ORR ...someone ... would have given some clue as to the problem(s)Abbo

Report that today a 755 was at Beccles with the engine shut down and train turned round short as unit was short of fuel.
Question are they really shorrt of fuel and if so why or are the gauges just not accurate, Are the gauges on the tanks or electronically in the cab ?
