1136 Yarmouth and now 1706 cancelled to due to unit issuesHaving given flack about the 755 and their introduction I thought that offering a bit of praise might be a good thing.
The Norwich - Yarmouth line opened today after a 16 day possession with new signalling and new automatic level crossings. All this meant that GA needed more 755's than they have for a couple of weeks and there were obviously possibilities of problems, but it appears to have all worked. Well done GA, Raitrack & everyone involved.
Here's hoping that the reopening of the Lowestoft lines next Monday, with the demand for even more 755's, works as well.

That was 745007. 745010 is out working both the 1230 and 1730 ex Norwich today.Be careful what you wish for in addition to the Felixstowe branch suspension the 1600 IPS-PBO and return have been cancelled as have the 1706 NRW - GYM and 17:22 NRW-CBG and returns too. Stansted services have been curtailed at Cambridge for most of the day, though that might be due to signal problems earlier and lastly is only one 745 out as the 16:30 NRW-LST and 19:02 return are also cancelled?
Railtrack? They have been gone for a while![]()
Next Monday you can.Can we once again go to Berney Arms then?
Are we forgetting a certain Boeing product, perchance? Or indeed the rather earlier de Havilland Comet?
A cancelled train is an annoyance, hitting the ground at 500mph is a bit more than that.
Not yet as the Norwich - Lowestoft service is busses for another week although somebody has told me the ESR is running throughout today ?Can we once again go to Berney Arms then?
The 0540 Colchester to Peterborough was caped at Ely due to a 'train fault'. Not enough diesel again?
Next Monday you can.
It's bee not pretty reliable on the whole.Got to go to Stansted next Monday - prating the direct service runs!
Terminated at Ipswich this morning.
There are a few sitting outside Cambridge with no permission for passenger service, plus two that are still in Switzerland. With more than 26 units to operate the current service, it doesn't look like there is a rush, more focus is being put into 745 admittance and acceptance. Someone correct me if wrong but there are about 29 authorized with two in CH and the other 7 still at Cambridge/MNR.How many 755s are awaiting entry into service?
How many 755s are awaiting entry into service?
There is no planned date for hourly Peterboroughs. How many required each day for the current timetable? Is the Peterboro service going hourly at some point?
If I read it correctly it's 19 daily.
No comment. Far too much ££££ at stakeSo, has anyone said who is to blame ? Is it Stadler for providing below par units, or GA for not understanding them ?

Before the days of 37s, 68s and all sorts of other issues, the Crown Point DMU fleet was diagrammed:
153 4/5
156 8/9
170 (2 car) 4/4 (but with off peak maintenance diagrammed)
170 (3 car) 7/8
So that was a total of 23 diagrams from a fleet of 26.
The only significant timetable change since those days has been the extension of the Norwich to Cambridge service to Stansted Airport requiring a further 2 diagrams.
There is the well documented lower fuel range of a class 755, but don’t know whether that results in further diagrams while units go for a drink.
