Yes, it went to Reading on a 5R99 / 5Y99 trip yesterday as well and I haven't observed it in service since last Sunday.Believe 064 on 5R99.
Yes it was to test the brakes on the unit.Believe 064 on 5R99.
Bit of a daft statement isn’t it? You cannot realistically consider the train and software separately?Andy Lord (managing director at TfL) just told the TfL board that the software fix for the 9-car units has been deployed and that they would enter service to Heathrow Terminal 5 "in the next few days".
And Mark Wild, Crossrail CEO, says most of the performance issues with the Class 345s are with the complex signalling software. "The mechanics of the train are very solid – it's all in the software. I'm confident we have a good train from Bombardier."
Not really. Software problems only require upgrades to the software to fix them. Some design problems in the hardware and physical design of trains cannot be fixed.Bit of a daft statement isn’t it? You cannot realistically consider the train and software separately?

Exactly - especially if you are Ansaldo-Breda in the later case. Not really. Software problems only require upgrades to the software to fix them. Some design problems in the hardware and physical design of trains cannot be fixed.
No renumbering. You just have to know. Are they renumbering when they get the extra cars (e.g. 345/1) or do you just have to know which are which?
I wondered that when they were due to run there in early June.I wonder if Geoff Marshall will do a video of the first passenger service of a 345 to Heathrow
They were due to enter service at the may timetable changeI wondered that when they were due to run on 7 June. Note that 5T07 is currently shown on RTT to run from Old Oak Depot instead of Old Oak Common EMU depot tomorrow morning so that may be it.
5T07 0509 Old Oak Depot to London Paddington

That would tally with the plan they had in June.I wondered that when they were due to run there in early June.

9T07 0532 London Paddington to Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 would then be the first service.
Yes, I agree but, but until the end of first week of June the open data feed was amended by VAR / STP schedules to show the Heathrow services using units from Old Oak Common EMU Depot (ie 360s). Intention and scheduling are different things. They were due to enter service at the may timetable change
9T07 0532 London Paddington to Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 would then be the first service.
Other than the Cambrian 158s for the last decade or so.Also the first ever passenger-carrying ETCS transition for any train nationwide, I think?
They have stickers inside the cabs saying what type of unit you have and where you/they can go.No renumbering. You just have to know.
Carriages 4 & 6 are removed for 7 carsAre they renumbering when they get the extra cars (e.g. 345/1) or do you just have to know which are which?
I meant do they renumber, say, 345055 to 345155 when it gets its extra 2 cars. It appears not.Carriages 4 & 6 are removed for 7 cars
No, they are 345001 to 345070.I meant do they renumber, say, 345055 to 345155 when it gets its extra 2 cars. It appears not.
It must be terribly frustrating from a service control two have two different fleets that need to run to two seperate destinations.
Once there is a common fleet between Heathrow /Reading /Hayes it should make service recovery easier as train destinations can change to either get back to right time or to provide an even service
A Rail Operations Group locomotive comes from Leicester to either Old Oak Depot or Ilford. It takes the unit around the North London Line, with a reversal at Hanwell Loop. There hasn't been such a movement since June 22 when 345006 came from Ilford to Old Oak Depot. There were a few other movements in early June.how to they move units between east and west sides atm?
are empty moves done via the tunnel or somewhere else like the North London line?
