I took the photo myself and can assure you that it is Sydenham Hill - the bridge is Hunts Slip Road. The line has a gentle curve all the way north from Sydenham Hill to West Dulwich.Can you recheck that is Sydenham Hill station as that station has a tunnel one end and the line is reasonable straight the other end.
It maybe that with the telephoto lens it has distorted the distances and curve.
