That's a shame, as that was one of the better units.

Since I've been quite busy I'm going to try and find the time to update the list into the different sections rather than Pacer class type, this way we can see which units are preserved, which ones have been converted to other uses and those which have been scrapped.
I'm not sure it was one of the better units, the Evolution upgrades were a bit slapdash and it was always a pain if that one turned up on Huddersfield to Sheffield rather than the usual 3-car unit.

I presume that whatever Network Rail planned for it fell through.

142032 now despatched at Eastleigh, 142056 looking quite heavily stripped and next to make it's final trip around the works.
Can't remember if I've already mentioned it, but 089 is also now long gone too (Despatched by Raxstar). 032 was finally completely disposed of last week, 056 had a brief stay of execution (though heavily stripped) and now awaits it's fate with the grabber soon.

Are there plans to scrap 142007 and 142014 too, or do these have a brighter future? Thanks

Was sad to read of 012's recent demise. Although it had its fault, with the accessiility mods it could have been a useful addition for a community operation on a preserved railway, and to have shown the important "what might have been" part of the pacer story.

What was the story behind the brief spell under Network Rail stewardship? Was it found to be in worse condition than expected? Did the use-case for it fall through?
I vaguely recall reading somewhere (a quick search on this thread didn't find anything) that the accessible toilet module had been removed by (or for) Network Rail anyway.

Can anyone advise what the situation is with 143625. Appears 1 car at KWVR and the other at Wensleydale Railway.

My question is who's unit is this.

Any info appreciated

I've still got this down as being at Canton - any ideas when the carriages moved?

143 625 was preserved by the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. However, when the individual cars were being removed from Landore, they were all scheduled to go first to the Wensleydale Railway (who had preserved 143 623.

I understand there were some other movements planned between the two railways thereby allowing the haulier to run full loads both the two preserved railways, to reduce costs.

Vehicles left Landore, for Wensleydale:
Mon 12/07/21 55664 (623)
Tue 13/07/21 55689 (623)
Tue 20/07/21 55691 (625)

There was then a wait before the final move:

Thu 07/10/21 55666 (625) Direct to the K&WVR

These were the last 4 vehicles to leave Landore from the entire 142 / 143 fleets.

Looks as if another couple of ex-Northern 142s have been disposed of by Raxstar at Eastleigh Works

Yes I can also add that as regards "back loads" the Vehicle presently located at the WR which belongs to KWVR (143 625) is due to be transferred hopefully week commencing 03/10/22.
There will be three movements during the early part of the week, with two loads comprising a P-Way Crane ex BR going to WR for a permanent home and restoration, with the coach going back to the KWVR.
The move was originally scheduled for w/c 01/08/22, but due to emergency road works in the Ingrow area, had to be postponed.

Can anyone provide updates on 143617 and 143619?
143619 is reported to be at the Tanat Valley Light Railway.
143617 is currently stored at St Philips Marsh Depot on Road 13, near the KFC and St Philips Causeway

Is 143618 still at St Philips Marsh, or has it moved to the Plym Valley Railway?

143618 is at Plym Valley Railway, and according to the Plym Valley Railway website it moved to its current home back in May this year. Ive attached the link to the locomotives section where the date of movement is stated. The twist in livery is that it has the initials of the railway (PVR) on the cab fronts instead of GWR as they did in service.

The Plym Valley Railway was given the chance to gain Class 143 No. 143618 from GWR in Spring 2022 and it arrived at Marsh Mills in May 2022. WIth a unique twist on the livery it wore with GWR 143618 is now operational on the Plym Valley Railway
