What about the fastest of the class 444 services out of Waterloo?

    Assisted Dying

I'm extremely sorry for your loss, truly I am, but I think it's very dangerous to think of assisted death as a potential means to lessen the distress of the living.

Trivia: Unusual / Interesting Calling Patterns?

Although its service was improved in the last timetable change, there are still some peak services that skip Albany Park (e.g. the 0804 from Gravesend). 1731405696 I remember this happening, and you are all correct that the purported reason was drunken behaviour. I remember signs at the time...

    Delay repay to station groups

The consensus seems to be that my walking the last stretch has confused matters. I don't want to risk claiming for something that I might not be strictly entitled to, and frankly I'm claiming the tickets on expenses anyway.

    Delay repay to station groups

I thought I had done just that, but the system seems to have assumed that I exited at Shrub Hill (which in fact I sort of did, although Foregate Street was genuinely the end of my journey and I did walk to it). Had I in fact waited and got the train to Foregate Street, I'd have made the same...

    Delay repay to station groups

Thanks. I did indeed start from FS for the return. 1730381316 Thanks. I won't appeal this, primarily because I have already got a relatively decent outcome and life is too short, and I appreciate that me walking the last stretch complicates matters. But I'm concerned there is a bit of a...

    Delay repay to station groups

I did in fact travel to Foregate Street, but I walked from Shrub Hill because it got me there earlier than waiting for the next train (although still more than one hour after the scheduled time). So Foregate Street was the end of my journey, but Shrub Hill was where I left the railway.

    Delay repay to station groups

Yes, but I travelled later than the itinerary issued when I purchased the ticket (which was fine, as it was an off-peak rather than an advance ticket). I do have a SeatFrog itinerary for an upgrade I purchased. They do both have me going to Foregate Street, not Shrub Hill.

    Delay repay to station groups

I recently travelled from Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street. My ticket was issued to a station group - i.e. Worcester Shrub Hill or Worcester Foregate Street. My train was 44 minutes late and terminated at Shrub Hill. The next train to Foregate Street arrived over an hour after the...

    London to Edinburgh/Glasgow Question

Remember that the northern part of the ECML serves York and Newcastle, whereas the northern part of the WCML serves Preston and Carlisle. I'm sure the difference in size between those cities is part of the answer.

    Caledonian Sleeper Euston Lounge

There is now a dedicated Caledonian Sleeper lounge, but I think it is rather more than a kiosk: https://www.sleeper.scot/euston-guest-lounge/ I hope that your trip is a happy one.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

The £36bn redistribution won't, I am sure, be on top of the existing normal capital spends. What will happen is that every bit of capital spend on transport from now on (whether it might have happened otherwise or not) will be treated as an HS2 dividend.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

Am I right in thinking we will now have "classic compatible" trains only on HS2 (and if they have to tilt on the WCML, possibly even smaller than some UK stock)? That would mean that we have seriously overengineered the loading gauge on HS2.

GWR Didcot Stoppers no longer calling at Ealing Bdy?

Slough probably suffers the most as a result of the timetable change - no GWR at peak times, just Elizabeth line stoppers.

Gatwick to Reading - May 2023 timetable removes main peak train

So, just out of curiosity, what would the driver be doing in that time? Is he/she allowed to take a nap?
