The Labour Party under Keir Starmer

Probably won't change. Security has been lacking for maybe 45-50 years that I know of , although some will be more secure than others.

    Entry to the US

I mean it's not so easy to avoid as my son was moved out there 17 years ago at age 6. But as I said upthread I didn't have any problems and nor did anyone from my flight. As an aside it's getting cheaper so I'm loving it with better exchange rates etc. As to the gun thing , I saw probably my...

    Entry to the US

I went March and again in June. Not one single person of any demographic was stopped , searched or even asked for their phone. The CBP officers couldn't of been happier or nicer and were joking around. Not even asked to prove my return flights or my accommodation in the States. Heck we...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Nope. Rest day work has been sanctioned again. Drivers are voting on a deal that has been recommended , but regardless driver's can't refuse to train on them.

Should Airline Staff be paid similar wages to guards / train managers ?

At my place there is almost no rdw . I love a rest day and have had one in two months. Also quite a few spare most days and even during disruption the other week , the middle cover wasn't used and i did around 2.5 hours off late cover. OK if you don't want to include spare or cover that's...

Should Airline Staff be paid similar wages to guards / train managers ?

You are way off . Take off annual leave and you are down to 1500 ish . Obviously different TOCs might have different leave arrangements. Take off changing ends and booking on and off and breaks and you are down to around 6-7 driving hours so around 1200 and then medical day , safety days and...

Should Airline Staff be paid similar wages to guards / train managers ?

Actually I just remembered something. One of our train managers was ex cabin crew and left us to do resourcing for Easyjet , but hated it and came back. Apparently they can get offered large payments and although I can't remember exactly what he told me iirc it was either to come in on days...

Should Airline Staff be paid similar wages to guards / train managers ?

Don't cabin crew get lots of add ons though. My neighbour is Easyjet cabin crew but I have never had a conversation and wouldn't ask about salary anyway. I used to work at Luton Airport and most of them had nice cars , especially for their age etc.

Arriva Rail London - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

Point of order , unless something has changed then Willesden drivers don't drive Watford to Euston except for one tiny link.

Eating healthy/exercising and help and advice.

Other than a slight belly I'm not overweight. Just want to be healthy/ longevity. After seeing gastroentorologists and having tests there wasn't anything other than diverticular and I have had that for around 8 years with no symptoms. This started 2 years ago and when I had a colonoscopy the...

Eating healthy/exercising and help and advice.

Thing is I like veg and salad etc. It's the veg etc that irritates my bowels and the stuff I love doesn't but isn't healthy.

Eating healthy/exercising and help and advice.

Thought I would start this after reading on other threads about how the general population should probably eat less and better if possible and exercise more. However as someone who has a huge sweet tooth and love of fast food , I had over recent years tried to eat more healthy and get some...

Stopgap options to cover for delays to introduction of Class 810 for EMR?

Not sure as it became 125 after I started. However a 360 obviously can't do 125 . Going northbound a Sheffield will catch up to a 360 at Wellingborough if hitting top speeds and the Nottingham right on the tail of the Sheffield and that's if you haven't got checked down for a Thameslink. Going...
