When I worked on the perway, we used to sand blanket wet spots to stop clay pumping through the ballast.
It involves a foot of sand containing a thick polythene sheet below the ballast layer.
This may be a more modern idea to the same end.

I doubt there is any need to destress CWR inside a long tunnel section like the underground. Leave the rails where they are to be installed and they will naturally take up the ambient temperature.

It would seem to be common sense to me that if you have insufficient block sections before the stop blocks, you cannot display the green aspect, or even the YY as you get closer.
