There are 4 trains trapped between Farnborough and Basingstoke on the down line. The up line seems to be operating again, 5W56 has just been sent up (2 x 444s).
Update: trains on the down now seem to be moving and all blocks removed.

A few weeks ago. I took a late night train from Lymington Town to Lymington Pier. No one got off at Town and my wife and I were the only passengers to get off at Pier. So it would have been empty except I spoiled it!

Not sure Waterloo is going to help much, there appears to be no service from Waterloo - Reading today. The SWML is on reduced service due to a landslip between Woking and Brookwood, so a very limited service to Basingstoke.
Looks best to avoid this stretch today, looks like the up fast is now closed too, nothing has made its way past today westbound. A couple of London bound trains have run through the area in the last hour or so.
Unless Wikipedia has got it badly wrong, all 801/1 are 5 cars and all 801/2 are 9 cars.
