Not necessarily difficult. From the North East, change at Peterborough onto a XC. For Luton from the North East, head to Carlisle then Milton Keynes from there. Or get the coach from the North East to Milton Keynes for Luton.
They run a second one at peak times on weekdays - 14:45 Reading - Newcastle (leaves Birmingham New Street at 16:30) runs via Leeds. But not one the other way for some reason.
Yep, and I can sense an uproar if LNER withdrew from Aberdeen and Inverness. Plus the Azumas are the highest capacity trains in normal service up there!
I'll be honest it's pretty regular that the Mark 4 sets are replaced by a 197 when passengers have paid for First Class. My advice is don't offer First Class if you can't guarantee it.
I doubt that'll happen - A 9-car 185 each of 3 coaches won't match the capacity of a 159 of the same length. The proposed 12-car battery 450's preferably with 2+2 table seating is the answer!
Very sensible idea as they have 125mph top speed too as well as 5 coaches. If First Class was declassified on all these then you've close to the capacity of Standard Class on an 80x.
If they did then they should be based at St Philips Marsh as if or when one fails in Cardiff or Exeter then the...
There's a simple answer to that - terminate at York in the day. Or in alternative hours, run a 5-car Voyager instead.
Passengers don't want booked 4-car Voyagers on busy routes.
