Avanti WC down the pan again

Nothing heading out of Euston until approximately 17.15, due to a person being hit by a train Between Wembley Central and Watford Junction. Clearly not Avanti’s fault this one, but another bad day for the WCML.

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

I’ve already had the £4.88, so how will I be losing that? The £62 Delay Repay was claimed from Avanti, as it was their train that was booked through LNER. It remains to be seen if I get the £6.20 cashback from LNER, but don’t see why I wouldn’t?

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

Well, LNER have refunded the original booking (2 tickets) for a fee of £10, ie £5 per ticket. Given that the replacement tickets fell foul of Storm Pia and so were also 100% refunded, it has actually turned out that I am in credit to the tune of £1.08 on this trip due to my cashback payments...

    Dangerous boarding procedures at Euston

Also Manchester Piccadilly. I assume there is more servicing of the trains in London than at other termini, otherwise it is frankly pathetic not to emulate what happens in Liverpool and Manchester. At the very least where an inbound service is late, announce the platform and have passengers...

Storm Pia disruption - Thursday 21st December 2023

I was caught up yesterday’s chaos. Was booked on the 17.15 Manchester - Euston service. I was aware that nothing left Piccadilly between 12.15 and 15.15. I also knew that there was a 16.15 which ran. My presumption is that these two services were formed of units already in Manchester...

    Avanti selling invalid tickets?

Peak restrictions are suspended on Avanti services until January 7th.

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

Thanks for the advice, I will bear this in mind, but I do like like the LNER website interface, plus I regularly get a 10% cash back offer from Lloyds when I book through the LNER website using my Debit Card (not through the app though oddly). I‘ve now bought the new tickets and submitted the...

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

Thank you very much. I know that there is a £10 admin fee, presumably that is per ticket and not booking?

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

I was hoping I could do that on the LNER website, but when I log on to my account I’m presented with a message that says i can’t change the booking - see below.

Changing Advance tickets (and is the admin fee payable per ticket?)

Looking for a bit of advice please. Got Advance tickets to travel from Manchester to London with Avanti on Friday, but probably now need to travel Thursday. These tickets were booked through the LNER website not with Avanti. How do I go about changing these tickets? Is it even possible on...

    At-Street Interchanges

Which would be the closest pair, say from one entrance to another (rather than accessing the platforms)? I’m assuming Kings X to St Pancras, but the two Wigans are very close too, certainly <1 minute walk. Manchester Piccadilly to Victoria on the other hand is quite a trek. Is there a pair...

    Longest platform

A continuous platform not only in two stations, but also in two cities!

10 years in prison for forgetting to renew a railcard?

Our Two Together Railcard expired on Monday. This morning I got an email from The Trainline urging me to renew. Not perfect if I was travelling yesterday or today, but should prevent travellers having Railcards that are many months out of date like we see in this section of the forum.

10 years in prison for forgetting to renew a railcard?

I was replying to the poster who was complaining that nothing shows on the homepage of the app, when very clearly it does. The usefulness of an additional advisory email warning is not in dispute.
