    If memory serves, this style of commutator doesn’t reverse polarity. It needs two batteries connected in series with a common centre tap and then uses positive or negative voltage (in relation to the common centre at 0V) to swing the needle to TOL or LC.

    Yep, had he stayed on his train from GLQ he would have arrived 15 minutes before the Lumo.

    He told me he had to run to get his train from Glasgow so decided to even things up by walking from Haymarket. Had he missed that Glasgow train he would have been 15 minutes behind the Lumo. In the end, it was pretty much a draw.

    It's vague because NR and TS haven't yet decided what to do. It's likely to involve signalling upgrades to increase capacity and shorten journeys. There's likely to be work at Dundee, Arbroath, Montrose and Aberdeen stations that could include longer platforms. There might be extra freight loops...
