I've just been looking at the East Coast website.
From what I can see there will be diversions between Newark and Doncaster in Feb...
Presumably via Boultham and Pyewipe juncs (avoiding Lincoln). :)
...and between Stevenage and Peterborough via March in March.

He tried to dive back on to the train! ^^^ It was obvious what would happen.
What was the "big man" supposed to do?
All he had to do was ask the guard politely if he could have his bag.
He didn't even ask at all.
Quite right.
Furthermore, how on Earth are they going to create a passenger counting sysetem that can tell how many people are in each carriage?
A computer can't tell the difference between a human and a suitcase.
IF,IF,IF,IF,IF.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Sam Main was proven guilty when he did not provide a valid ticket - he has not yet.
The "big man" has been proven guilty of nothing.
The guard has been proven guilty of nothing.
Sam Main is nothing but a twit; if he thinks what he's done is "funny" he is a stupid twit; if he thinks he's going to get any compensation/proper sympathy he is an ignorant, stupid twit.
Welcome to the forum. :D
I sure I'm not one of the members you mentioned but hope I can help!
As far as I can see the best outward fare is the £43.50 that I presume you found - Cross Country direct.
If you don't mind getting back late £10 tickets are availiable (if you hurry) for the 1730...
