Aye, Nottingham station has some really nice features; the building itself is comparatively modern being completed in 1904 so it has a fair bit of common design with other local buildings and indeed other stations in the area which were built around the same era.
There's a couple of photographs...

I can't help but think that the easiest industry solution would be to add to the NRCOT that if a train turns up with First Class, it's got First Class, regardless of what twitter/a third party...
I don't doubt those with legal expertise, but its not half daft in the 'court of common sense' that a third party retailer can make incorrect claims about someone else's service and then it's the service provider themselves who are on the hook.
The private company gets the money (via...
You have three years from the date of injury to bring about a personal injury claim. Whether or not you're in the union is broadly irrelevant aside from the choice of legal firm, there's not any dodgy deals go on behind the scenes between union reps and claims handlers that would give an...
I'll be honest, I'm not sure I fully understand why it is seen as "too difficult" to install TPWS to mitigate risk in these circumstances.
We already manage to install TPWS overspeed sensors which are suppressed under certain conditions - ie, when the signal is not red - at tens of thousands of...
Nah, I've had that unit a few times, the visibility through the decals is fine. From that photo the level of opacity looks higher than it actually is, probably a combination of outdoor lighting conditions and the camera image processing.
At the risk of coming across blunt, and I mean this with the best of intentions, you probably want to think about getting a couple more shifts under your belt with a key before you start pulling the "I know better because I'm a Driver" attitude.
There's rail colleagues from any number of grades...
Yes, but I don't know how widespread it is. There are a couple of locations on my patch where NR monitor train speed via track circuit/axle counter section occupancy times and ping across an email to let the TOC know if there's been a possible overspeed event to follow up on. Given I see very...
Well, it's a requirement of the RSSB rule book that all internal doors are unlocked except where they're at each end of the train, at each side of any gangway connections which can't be made, or that leads to accommodation which isn't for public use. What instructions individual companies put...
My take would be, what problem would it solve?
The Driver would need to change ends anyway unless you're proposing we start driving trains from the back, I'd also be concerned that it would open up a risk that the overrun didn't get reported into the Signaller or Control and hence the required...
I would challenge that on the grounds that the "expert" is clearly overreaching their remit.
Any assessment should be against the requirements for a specific role, how can you possibly with any degree of accuracy say an individual, even with adjustments, could not perform any role which has...
Sometimes it can also be about how you answer a question. The railway likes using competency based interviewing where they are expecting examples from you if situations where you have previously demonstrated the competency, eg for the resilience question you could give an example of a time that...
Just picking up on this, I do always find it a really really odd area for people to get in a tizzy over, for the simple reason that the perceived problem will still exist, just the other way around.
Presumably the alternative would be for trans people to use the toilets associated with their...
I'd go the other way, I'd get rid of cash. No opportunity for dodgy businesses to skip paying tax, you'd stop vagrants bothering people for cash immediately (unless they go and sign up for card machines), the authorities can quickly seize the assets of criminals, on a national scale it would...
