Do we know if the street decks that have been transferred from york will be put into the constellation branding to match the rest of the double decker fleet?
Networkers arent 35 - 40 yet, neither are the turbos.
Its the 15x which needs priority rather than handing out contracts for sake of keeping factories open
Its all well and good saying that however..
Its only when you look at it from an things such age perspective that you see what actually needs replacing and what can wait. 150s are the fleet closest to end of life so if any new trains are needed right now its Northerns.
Whereas 16x and 465/466s...
Interiors across the 387 fleet are the same or at least almost the same surely except for the colour pallet used by each operator?
With the 379s we can only hope for a fleet whose interior finally matches the GN brand and isn't just southern in all but name
Exactly and new train orders were always going to run low eventually. It’s just the way it is.
The more trains we replace now. The longer the wait will be for new work in the future. Its why full fleet replacements are problematic and are not necessarily always a good thing.
If the remaining BREL stock is replaced too soon before it reaches end of life its just gonna bring the order gap forward even quicker
465s also have at least 8-9 years left in theory so they are getting close to end of life but replacement needs to be done at the right time if manufacturing...
The press release is a bit messy and could’ve actually just simply listed everything being added/changed in the refurbishment for each of the 3 fleets.
Would’ve been a lot clearer and easier to read
