Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

Still have two in Norwich. Looks like they are moving to a slightly smaller unit in Chantry Place shopping centre, just a few metres away from their existing unit.

Confusion over ticket permits on Stansted/Gatwick Express

When I bought Cardiff to Norwich tickets from Trainsplit a couple of years ago (a single ticket, no splits) the itinerary was Cardiff-Paddington-Liverpool St-Stansted Airport-Norwich. Therefore I thought going into and then out of Stansted Airport was fine.

150's. They belong in the cess pool of history.

Apart from a single journey on one in Wales 2 years ago I haven't been on one for years. Would be interesting to see a similar photo of a Northern 150.

Never would have guessed those interior shots were of a 150.

150's. They belong in the cess pool of history.

It was nice travelling on them whilst in Cardiff two years ago, but that was for nostalgia, taking me back 30 years. However, I wouldn't want to use them frequently. And to think that we now have Flirts performing the duties they once performed here in the East. Back to the original question...

If I remember correctly the /2s replaced our 156s at Norwich for awhile, and they felt a massive downgrade all those years ago. Were you a driver at that time, and if so, was there much difference from a drivers point of view?

    Northern line service levels

I used the Northern line 3 times yesterday. Frequent service, but I can't ever remember seeing such filthy underground trains before. The seats were turning black! Is this typical or was I just unlucky?

    Supermarkets discussion

A small shop in Orkney rather than a supermarket, but an example today of when an order is incorrectly placed https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c723n29vv9go

    Supermarkets discussion

Tried to visit a pharmacy a few weeks ago but both my local ones now close all weekend. Didn't Lloyds pharmacy pull out of all Sainsbury's, rather than Sainsbury's kicking them out?

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

Bernard Matthews is owned by the same person that owns the 2 Sisters Food Group. Not sure if it is just the processing site which is closing or also the Bernard Matthews head office at Great Witchingham.

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

I believe it is just the single site at Great Witchingham, just North of Norwich. This is where Bernard Matthews filmed the TV adverts after buying the hall in the 1950s. The staff are being given the opportunity to transfer to a different site.

    Special Offers Discussion

I think my colleague didn't find any because he was looking at weekend tickets which GA weren't offering. I presume these £5 tickets must have been for M-F.

    Special Offers Discussion

A colleague found that what GA is offering from Norwich to London was quite disappointing and is waiting for the next Hares Fares promotion instead.

Was their any compensation for cancellation or delays back in BR days?

The memory is hazy, but did BR launch the passengers charter which was based on the arrival time at the final destination? I recall additional minutes being added between Diss and Norwich so we usually arrived early and were never late.
