This makes you realise why HS2 is so ridiculously expensive.

Sorry for the delay. Which Football League club has the closest ground to the river Mersey? (as of today , so Everton's new ground doesn't count)

Pricing of out of court settlements and costs involved in persuing fare evasion cases

If a speeding offence is challenged by a driver who knows himself to be innocent, the costs and potential penalties if unsuccessful are such that it is safer to accept an awareness course or fixed penalty if offered. I always ensure I have a valid ticket, but reading these forums makes me...

HS2 Construction Updates - Birmingham Area

Having been passing the part finished piles at the A5 bridge for over a year now without any apparent progress, I was surprised to see they had been completed and other work in progress yesterday.

Being charged £374 from an issue 3 years ago

There are no barriers at either Nuneaton or Atherstone. An anytime Day return is £5 without a railcard. The journey time is about 6 minutes, so unlikely that a ticket would be inspected on the train in that time. We need more information from the OP about the contents of the letter from LNW?

Freightliner calls on Government to set ambitious rail freight target

HGV VED is very low compared with cars. A large MPV pays more then a 40T HGV yet the HGV wears out the infrastructure 10 000 times as much. HGVS are heavily subsidised.

What can you do if somebody sits on your booked seat ?

Would it not be possible to introduce a penalty fare for those occupying seats for which they don't have a reservation. The threat of enforcement may be sufficient to deter people even if the practicalities may make it difficult to implement in practice.

Train operator obligations when services are changed

Grand Central have cancelled the 14:14 from Sunderland today. They have tweeted ( or is it now Xed) the following. The next GC train is 4 hours later at 1814 Any alternative ticket bought on the day is likely to be much more expansive than the refunded amount. Do GC not have an obligation...

Sending important letters - signed for or special delivery?

In my experience, Special Delivery has the benefit that you often get your money back because they fail to deliver it on time ( But usually on the right day )
