How to deal with a TOC that won't engage with you? - Platform alterations at Leyland station

Do you have any evidence of a proposal to remove the Liverpool service from Leyland? I've certainly never heard of any such proposal nor I believe is there any concrete plan to remove the two trains per hour to the airport from Leyland.

Northern service "stops in wrong position" at Mcr Oxford Road

IMO the driver shouldn't be turning to focus on making an input on a display screen that is 90 degrees from their windscreen, when entering a platform number at a major station, and likely travelling towards buffers or a red signal. Their focus should solely be on driving the train. The screens...

    TPE travel irregularity report

You may wish to contact TPE to advise of a new address and that you've currently had no correspondence off them. You don't have to admit that you gave a false address.

Should the Manchester metrolink introduce ticket barriers at key stations?

And would cost a lot more too. Manchester trams are far busier than Sheffields, conductors would struggle to get down the trams in the peaks.

Is this the longest Avanti service ever?

Seems odd and a bit random that Macclesfield is pick up only.

Warrington to Burnley Manchester Road permitted routes

In practice, I doubt that the OP would have any issues changing at Victoria. It is a perfectly sensible route, the only people who know it's not valid would likely he those that had seen this thread.

Should the Manchester metrolink introduce ticket barriers at key stations?

It will not stop the hardened fair dodger. Those that casually take a gamble that there will be no checks for a couple of stops will probably think twice, and those who aren't dodging but have used other systems where pay on board is possible, and assume that Manchester is the same would also...

Should the Manchester metrolink introduce ticket barriers at key stations?

I don't think this would really improve things, as stated above its pretty much impossible to barrier on street stations, if they know that Piccadilly, Victoria etc are barriers then they will just travel to Picc Gardens, Shudehill etc. They already have manual turnstiles for events at Old...

    Avanti West Coast Prosecution

The original email seems very presumptuous. How do avanti know that the OP doesn't have a valid ticket from Stoke to Stockport, purchased by another means? Eg a paper ticket from a ticket office. Yet it accuses them of short faring and doesn't even ask an explanation for mitigating evidence...

Overshoot at MKC - 9th May

There may be passengers in wheelchairs, with pushchairs or with luggage they cannot easily get through 3 carriages, in the part of the train that is off the platform.

    Issue with TPE refund

According to PayPal terms and conditions, most refunds take less than 5 working days, some take up to 30 days. They go on to say it's usually credit cards that take longer due to billing cycles, but debit card refunds can take 10 working days. If no refund received by 9th May (accounting for the...

Cuts and increases to services since 2019

So that was 2 Northern Trains to Victoria and 1 TPE, exactly what I said. Still 3tph between Stalybridge and Victoria. The Huddersfield to Piccadilly and Hull to Piccadilly didn't go to Victoria. The 2 trains per hour to Piccadilly is the pretty much same service level as today, just that the...

Cuts and increases to services since 2019

Stalybridge has at least seen an increase in TPE calls, so it does still have three trains per hour to Victoria (2*TPE+1*Northern) vs (1*TPE+2*Northern) pre 2019.

Trivia: populous settlements without frequent direct seaside services

Im fully aware of the above, but the original post on this thread specifies that there must be a minimum 2 hourly frequency. Skipton, Keighley and Bingley to Morecambe and Wilmslow to Milford Haven or Tenby are all less frequent than 2 hourly, so do not qualify as a semi-frequent service under...

RPI asking for too much information

Very unlikely, there needs to be a provable intention to cause harm or fear, or at the very least a substantial amount of recklessness., taking a phone to view a ticket is very unlikely to fall into this category unless grabbed by force. Trespass of a person isn't a specific offence, more a...
