Hey, it's still making them laugh after all these years, let simple minds enjoy simple things.

Restore Your Railway - South Fylde

I was going to ask what's to restore? Looking at old maps I can't see anything that isn't still there - what is this particular campaign hoping to achieve?

I thought the revenue risk was with TfL for London buses?

    The 2024 London Mayoral Election

Be fair, it can't be easy to make "We hate London and everything about it" seem like an appealing manifesto in a London-based election.

RMT reporting that Merseyrail have suspended off peak ticket sales from Liverpool Central/Moorfields - Aintree for Grand National weekend.

I said no such thing, however on the assumption that what I'm quoted as saying is what you intended your reply to me to be then yes, it's entirely in order for a union to schedule its industrial action when it feels that it will be the most effective, and that in no way impinges on its right to...

Motorway Driving - too many idiots

It's all three of them. If I'm being tailgated by someone who seems to want to be able to read my dashboard, odds on it's a BMW, Audi or Merc.

RMT reporting that Merseyrail have suspended off peak ticket sales from Liverpool Central/Moorfields - Aintree for Grand National weekend.

Of course. Why would a union not want their industrial action to cause the most inconvenience? There would be no point striking on a day when trains aren't running. Not really justified - shouldn't that be covered by the fare income from all the extra passengers?

Motorway Driving - too many idiots

Mirror, signal, manoeuvre. A pretty basic term that everyone learns on day one. Too basic for you probably.

    Picc Line Closures

Does this (and the others in the list) refer to stations that are closed, or the stations between which the line is closed? In other words, will there be services between Wood Green and Turnpike Lane on those days? (Asked purely out of curiosity rather than out of any need to plan.)

    The 2024 London Mayoral Election

That still doesn't make it a separate level of government, just different branches (executive and legislative) of the same government. It's a feature of the system, not a bug - it's exactly the same as a prime minister saying "I'm going to do this thing" and Parliament saying "No you aren't".

    The 2024 London Mayoral Election

The mayor of London and the GLA are one level of government, as are borough mayors and that borough's council - you are double counting here. 1713261959 I don't know about London, but I imagine the timetable is similar to Greater Manchester where I've received in the post today the booklet...

RMT reporting that Merseyrail have suspended off peak ticket sales from Liverpool Central/Moorfields - Aintree for Grand National weekend.

If they weren't profiteering, they should have rounded them even further to £5, much closer to the correct price and would have made payments even more convenient. 1713131295 Probably not, they were more likely delighted by the sensible approach taken by the union leadership of timing the...

    Supermarkets discussion

I'd be surprised if they weren't charging Express prices rather than Superstore prices when they were Metros.

Who has been to Miniworld (Rotterdam)

Yes, I've been a couple of times. Not quite on the scale of Miniatur Wonderland, but still excellent. Good to hear the UK section's almost finished, always happy to have an excuse to go back to Rotterdam.
