You must sit in your reserved seat!

What a surprise - Cross Country and their "we don't give a s**t if someone is sitting in your reserved seat" policy - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3224978/Eight-months-pregnant-woman-forced-stand-train-half-hour-businessman-refused-seat-d-booked.html

You must sit in your reserved seat!

That's interesting. A couple of years ago I was on a Crosscountry service, someone was sat in my reserved seat, the train was full. I stood in the vestibule and despite saying that I've got a reserved seat, the inspector said, "nothing I can do about it, what the hell do you expect me to do...

Every Tube ticket office to close

I lived in London for 5 years in the 1990s. I don't think I ever got decent service on the LU. Dirty, cramped trains. Rude and obnoxious ticket and gate staff. Sat in a tunnel for minutes without any clue from the driver what is happening. Yet they go off on strike, despite being on the...

    Gainsborough Central

Just read the font of all knowledge, Wikipedia, that seems to suggest, without citation, that TPE trains could stop there in the near future. How would this sort of route work?

    Please identify the station!

This photo was taken in 1983, but it doesn't give me a title of where this is!

    Harrasment

If a ticket inspector attempted to penalty charge you despite your origin station being one with no ticket facilities, would that inspector be attempting fraud? It seems that it's only one way with these chaps, that "the unwashed" are always the villains and the inspectors are clean and scot-free.

Lincoln to Nottingham - one of the worst lines in the country!

From Gainsborough I tend to go via Worksop to Nottingham, just to avoid the dreadful bottleneck at Newark and the tortoise speeds around Carlton.

    London Terminals and LUL

Interestingly, staff at Waterloo BR used to regularly turn down London Travelcards if they were purchased via London Underground, as they didn't show a BR logo. That was in the mid 90s. Despite being told to accept them by management, the gate staff regularly refused them.
