I think experience in the rail industry should be essential for this role. Running colleges and universities for previous experience doesn’t fit for me.
This has the potential to be a bigger clusterf#*k than abellio running it. The calmac ferry network has been completely under funded for years resulting in vast sums required to build new ships. Will the govt keep investing in scotrail or will investment go the way of the ferry’s.
With another rugby international lined up for a week on Friday at 7.30 with an after 9 finish it will interest to see if any additional planning will be done by scotrail.
Don’t see where the moneys going to come from. Edinburgh system is not big and cost a fortune. I know people will say everything’s there but by the time it’s all adapted and rolling stock is bought the cost will be vast.
Fort william to Inverness is 68 miles with a regular coach service. I would think you should do all the highland lines in one trip. With the the citylink coach making up your missing link.
