They were indeed. They transformed travel between Lancashire & Yorkshire when introduced, but unfortunately by the early 1970s when I observed them[and rode in them], were becoming more unreliable.

Thank you, both of you, for your replies. Presumably they're waiting until they can move the buses back to Minehead, as they'd be too much dead running out of Yeovil. It was running this time last year, although Easter was earlier then.

Does anyone have any information as to whether this service is to restart this year? I've enjoyed a couple of trips on it in past years and wouldn't mind another this summer?

Yes. I wondered about that. As far as I can discern, there were three trains waiting at some stage, but with Sheridan I wonder if it was worth it for 2 mins or so. Yet I suppose its always easier to regulate trains from one's fireside and comfortable armchair!

Does anyone know why this train was ordered to omit its Prestatyn stop this morning? It was during single-line working due to a suspected track defect on the up line, and thus all trains were using the down line, resulting in stopping at the "wrong" side of the island platform at Prestatyn. But...

So would-be passengers can know the times of the buses? ;)
