I'm ok with that, I don't see it as inaccurate, outdated or insulting. Just observational. Though I know there is of course a percentage of football fans who are not alcoholic, testerone-charged tattooed loonies, and that's cool.
I was at Huddersfield station yesterday around midday when it suddenly got very busy with drunks as a train from Manchester arrived. At first I just assumed it was the local neanderthals and knuckle draggers going to get their fix of men kicking a ball around, but there was no football on...
It is speculated on the Travel West Yorkshire forum and Transdev enthusiasts facebook group that Alex Hornby may have left the company. It is also noted that he has been absent from Twitter since mid February (very rare for him).
Remember this is *speculated*, not fact...
I had a conductor make the announcement 'Northern tickets are not valid on this service' a grand total of 7 times just between Leeds and Dewsbury last week on a TPE service to Liverpool Lime Street!

I used to use the 060 between Leeds and Liverpool every week, and I can remember almost all drivers having the radio on, or even their own music sometimes. One driver in particular loved Meatloaf, in fact he even looked a bit like him
When Connexions used to run the 38 in Leeds, one driver always used to have to radio blaring. I thought it made for quite a nice atmosphere.
I've seen plenty of First Leeds drivers with earphones in (including someone who's a driver mentor); though I'm sure inspectors wouldn't be best pleased!
