Hoping someone could help? I work for ScotRail and we are currently in discussion to bring Sunday in as part of our working week , we appear to be using the recent Welsh deal as a starting point - does anyone have details of the roster they guys use ? Ie ; what’s the shift pattern Thanks in advance

I understand that's the 64m$ question.
From what I heard they agreed the deal, but never sorted out the links and now struggling to meet agreement. Happy for someone who works there to correct me.

Yes it would be good to get that sort of thing nailed down before any vote.

No links are sorted yet. The pay day stated that the amount of shifts on a Sunday cannot exceed that of any other day in the week. I guess we will know more closer to the time

Is that GA? I thought it was CA, but my eyes aren't the best!

It looks like an older link but timings seems to match up to some Glasgow turns too. If I remember rightly Carlisle depot is CE but it has been a few years since I last saw a Carlisle duty.

Sounds like it is TPE Glasgow then. Carlisle is definitely CA though.

Edit: It's CL!

The three week (BR) roster pattern most traincrew are on.

Current Pattern

O On - X Off

MTWTFSSu
XXOOOOX
OOXXOOX
OOOOXXX

5 days off every third weekend, easier to swap with others to obtain permanent early / late shifts.

One train company seems to be toying with this to put Sundays into that three week roster.

One of the shifts in the middle week is moved (Tue or Fri) - the two days off becomes three days off.

Becomes

MTWTFSSu
XXOOOOX
OOXXXOO
OOOOXXX

or

MTWTFSSu
XXOOOOX
OXXXOOO
OOOOXXX

It should be noted that doing this leaves the Tuesday or the Friday with less drivers & guards. The Tuesday would be the easier one to work around.

That looks much better than the one posted yesterday. That means only a max of 5 days on in a row.

I’m seeing 6 in a row when that middle week rest day moves to a Friday , or 7 in a row when moved to the Tuesday .

This is an example sent today by ASLEF. Not sure what company it's from.

Really hope this isn’t how ours looks - very worried that some members closer to retirement only think of final pension. We’d be working 17 full weekends out of 30 on that.

Ah good shout! My mistake I was looking at the “O” as off rather than working. I take your point.

They would also need a big recruitment drive (which would please Aslef) as increasing to 156 rest days will present roster challenges.

For Northern AIUI it is CL
(Attached picture is Carlisle driver diagram CL102, as released by a FOI request to Northern fairly recently)
