They only held it because the thing was designed by someone who worked for BR at the time; the employment contracts meant that any sidelines like that would become the employer's property - hence the patent became registered in BR's name.I wonder who now holds that patent?... and if they paid anything for it!

Who knows. It's utter rubbish anyway. I also noticed that the locomotive has a (apparently perfectly rectangular) shadow but the carriages don't.BTW, how much AI is there in that clip? Has the moving train sequence perhaps been created using genuine footage, and all that's been done is that part of the background Glenfinnan scenery has been obscured (using the mocked up rake of stationary train carriages as some static backdrop)?
