A quick question. I'm hoping to tour Portugal between 30th March and 6th April, using trains between Lisbon and Porto. Are Portuguese Railways prone to industrial action, ie strikes and reduced services etc?

Not as much as the French. Probably more than the UK and less notice needed

Info generally appears on cp.pt beforehand with list of what is/not running. The have a minimum notice period of 5 days I believe, unlike many countries.

Worst case in my limited experience was only about half the ICs running, 2 Evora per day so I went by rede-expressos instead.

But that was ears ago when there was a wave of industrial unhappiness (and some ran a web site hagreve.com like the Italian ministry of transport strikes page).

Some countries (like Deutschland) could still learn from the Portuguese!
