That’s still only 5 trains that have been in passenger service and 1 mini diagram.
After the initial three, they seem to be being introduced at the rate of one a month. Will we see any more this side of Easter?

Time for an update
701028 (3) February 6th, 7th, 9th
701036 (1) March 7th
701037 (17) January 9th, 11th, 18th, Feb 15th, 20th, 26th - 29th, Mar 1st, 4th, 5th, 18th, 21st, 22nd, 26th, 27th
701039 (8) January 10th, 12th, 17th, 23rd, 26th, 31st, Feb (1st), 2nd, 5th
701043 (30) January 16, 19, 22, 24, 25, 29, Feb 8, 12-14, 16, 19, 21-23, Mar 6, 8, 11-15, 19, 20, 25, 28, Apr 2 - 5

January 15th - No run (not scheduled)
January 30th - No run (strike).

That is good news. At the current rate all 90 units will be in service for Summer.

701510 and 530 were out this evening. Two days in a row where a pair of 5 coaches have gone past at around the same time.

Can anyone say, if 701010 is still at Wembley (it arrived there from Worksop on 7th Feb 2024).
There didnt appear to a 701 at Wembley from what I saw this morning unless its hidden behind the 321/3s.

701010 is suspected to have gone to Wembley IC Depot for attention (finishing work ?) so if it is still there it is likely to be inside.

What routes do the 701s do, and how likely is it that I'll get one by sheer luck if I don't check RTT? Additionally, what's the proportion of 455s to 701s that were out today? Just want to know since I've planned to go on a 701 for the first time this weekend, and want to get a 455 before they go. Oh, and do the 701s do weekend services anyway?

You won’t get on one on a weekend.
They are still (to my knowledge) only doing 2 round trips Waterloo to Windsor on Monday to Friday.

Good to know, thanks! I guess I'll have to try get one tomorrow or next week then. Are 450s doing the other services alongside the 455s?
In addition, could someone possibly send the RTT link to the services they did/will do today?

No 455's today on the Windsor services from Waterloo. All the 8 car trains were 450's, and the 10 cars were 458's except for the two 701 services

It did go to Wembley IC Depot via Kilburn Loop RR as it was unable to get in at The North end.

Picked up 701003 from the carriage sidings for EH.

Has the build quality been an issue?
Obviously, otherwise none would have failed test run and then need some rectification, as factory would have built them to faultless state, where they could be delivered and in service few days later without further work.

I’ve seen on WNXX a picture of a carriage of 701007 on the back of a low loader near Nottingham, anyone any idea where it’s going, or come from!

There hasn’t been any booked 455 services (apart from one early morning up service) since the resignalling down to Windsor. The repositioning of the S marker and signal at Datchet on the down platform means an 8 car 455 cannot stop there as they don’t have ASDO.

I know I've posted quite a few acceleration videos on here now but I have to show this one (promise it'll be the last)..
It's even more mind boggling when you see it from the back

But at least two on the Readings, I came back on one. Together with a woman who was desperately looking for the toilets. In the morning (on a 450) we followed 701036 into Waterloo on its maiden voyage.

For those wondering about ABDO and if it's ever going to happen, there's this tender about it opened by the RSSB a few months ago. This indicates that, if it does ever get installed, it's probably going to be a long time in the future since it still seems to be in the research stage..?
NR are installing ABDO Balises between Putney and Richmond. Testing with 701's is being planned.

There are three all day diagrams with 455s on Reading services now. Together with an additional evening round trip this means that there are four consecutive departures from Waterloo mid evening which are 455s.

I'm told that since the resignalling 8-car 455s can no longer go to Windsor. They also cannot be used to Weybridge as they can't serve P3 at Virginia Water. So there's only Reading left where they can go.

Imagine the newer CIGs and VEPs not being introduced until 1980. The rate the 701s are going that will be a valid comparison soon!

How would it do that?

701003
Running late - diverted via Kenny O passed 1958 - Tooting 2027 - Wimbledon 2032
69008 did the work.

043 running again today, but the second round trip will be cancelled because of signaling problems. Currently rinning 30 minutes late on its way to Waterloo
