According to Bustimes, Kinchbus Citaros 901/3 have now also been withdrawn. As mentioned previously, Skylink 151 is down with accident damage. E200MMCs 175 and 217 and Solo SR 502 have been moved to Kinchbus to replace these.

I am hearing that there are two Stagecoach Interdeck coaches at Langley Mill. Suspect they have come from Perth. No idea which fleet they are for. Trent Solo SR working from Langley Mill today (ex Derby, Notts and Derby/Trentbarton use)

Notts and Derby 53, I presume

Addition - the Solo at Langley Mill from Derby was 499

Spondon Flyer making a return? Or maybe they're for the 1A?

If they were for the Red Arrow that would be amazing though! Hopefully they are staying!
But Notts and Derby don't work any of those routes. Not sure where the discussion with the City Council is re Spondon

I meant the coaches at Langley Mill? They could potentially be for the RA could they not?

But I did just read some news articles about how criticised they were in Scotland due to only having 3 seats downstairs, so probably not the perfect coaches...

217 now back at Nottingham. This was just on loan to kinchbus on Saturday.

499 appears to be based at Langley Mill now.

There are no interdeck coaches at Langley Mill at the moment.

But how many seats do you want downstairs? I'd have thought they would make the coaches more accessible to disabled passengers (not just those in wheelchairs)... A friend who struggles to walk, used Red Arrow the other week, because it was a low floor single decker

Depends on the nature of the service. Go Ahead switched to using coaches on the X9/X10 from Newcastle (from double deckers) and they were very unpopular. It limited the number of pushchairs that could be carried (I believe also the driver had to get out and stow them in the luggage space) and anyone who struggled with steps had very few seats they could access and if they were taken the only option was to climb up to the main level or wait for the next one.

I wonder if there are plans to produce a double-deck version of the Volvo 9500, the 9700DD seems a great idea but possibly too long for this sort of work. Would be a good option for the X17 as well, or at least a true limited stop version of it.

Here's something to chew on. Reported by a Trent driver on Facebook. Allocations for the 29 new ADLs on order.

(Note this could be a rumour)

I'm also wondering what fleet numbers they'd carry, and if they'd be fitted with tinted windows and USB-C charging like The Threes ADLs.

Edit: Didn't the H1 have a Volvo repainted recently?

Yes it did, I wonder if the H1 MMCs were diverted from Kinch as it was rumoured some of the 29 were going to them, and Kinch are now getting ZEBs thanks to the ZEBRA2 funding

it's fully confirmed by Tom Morgan, in the staff briefing for the new vehicles.
6 for ilkeston flyer, 6 for Mickleover, 6 for H1 & 5 for villager, the order will include 6 spares.

Hopefully this could allow some of the 58 plates scanias to be passed onto TM Travel or even Notts+Derby.

What is to happen with 101-106? I would've thought they'd at least replace a large chunk of the Volvos before replacing 2016 ADLs?

Won't 2016 ADLs be Euro 6? If so, surely TM would be the obvious destination as much of their fleet isn't compliant despite regularly operating in to the Sheffield LEZ.
Stagecoach Yorkshire's YY16 E20Ds are, so I would assume so. However I wouldn't bank on Wellglade giving TM anything of worth..

This is stretching Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire but is TMs "CAZ exemption" going to expire anytime soon?

Personally I could see some of the Volvos heading to TM, they are heavyweight vehicles and are much suited (like the L94s) to TMs network.

101-6 will be cascaded onto other routes, but we will have to wait & see what they do appear on.

Yes the ADLs are euro 6, as are the B7RLEs with the eminox (I believe that’s who did them) pack on the engine, supposedly buses are except from this still until 2025 (how true that is I’m unsure) but the L94s can be upgraded to euro 6 but the fact they have not shows some of the B7RLEs could be heading that way.

New buses for the villager :o. Never would of thought we were worthy of brand new vehicles. Any ideas when these are due?

Would be nice if they had some red MMCs for a change instead of more Mangoes - perhaps you'd have thought the company was called Mango!

Why would the Mickleover be getting new vehicles when it'll just cost more to rebrand the old ones? Or are they in need of some new work (as 107 and 108 seem a lot happier with Kinchbus! ;) )
Most days at least 101 to 106 has to be taken out of service. Looking at some the other day, they looked dirty and a bit battered. Maybe the cleaner didn't get a chance to wash them ;)

I don't know about 107/8, most days they seem to have their work cut out on the Skylink!

I'd thought any bus from 2013 or newer should be Euro 6, but I've recently seen some 2018 plate E200s coming off lease which are only Euro 5. Not sure how that works to be honest. All cars after 2016 are as I made a point of getting a 2016 model last time I changed to make sure it was Euro 6. Good thing I did otherwise I'd have been on the hook for various LEZ charges.

I'd be interested as well to know what exemptions the various companies have. I thought they'd all expired by now but both Hulleys and TM are still running non-compliant vehicles in to Sheffield most days. Indeed there are times when more of Hulleys Euro 6 vehicles are running around Chesterfield than in to Sheffield. They can't just be eating the fines surely?

it’s not that simple. The ‘Classic’ E200 was produced as Euro V (5) from about 2010 and continued until about 2017 ( I think there were even a few registered with 18 plates). The E200 MMC was Euro VI (6) from new, and started production in about 2016. To complicate matters, some Euro 5 E200s have subsequently been retrofitted to Euro 6 standards using Eminox (and a variety of other) upgrade kits.

Was the classic ever produced as Euro VI from new, or are all compliant examples retrofits?

Were the rules different for buses as I'm sure all cars after 2016 had to be Euro VI, but I've read something which suggests only new designs of bus introduced after 2013 had to be Euro VI.

No, no classics were built as Euro VI. Actually - in my mind I have a recollection some were built for TfL services, who wanted Euro VI sooner - but I stand to be corrected!

There was a cut off but I can’t remember what it was. Clearly not 2013 for buses though!

But all slightly off topic - unless any were delivered in Notts or Derby!

Tbh and I'm ready to be corrected but most vehicles before 2017 are euro5, unless the operator has upgraded them.
