Not fun is it?

After 22 years of life, with no fillings or any dental issues, I fractured a tooth myself in 2019.

To say I was mortified by it would be an understatement.

I feel your pain! :(

Not in the slightest.

The only thing more painful (it's not agonizing right now, surprising considering virtually the whole front of the tooth came away, more unsightly) is, as someone not registered with a dental practice, trying to find somewhere to even look at it, never mind remedying it (the one closest to me isn't taking on any new patients).

I can only imagine the time taken for getting it seen being worse without having a registered dental practice, because the Dental Hospital won't likely deal with something like presently that because it isn't a 'proper emergency' in their view.

When my filling came out a few months back it took a good 8 weeks to get a new one.

Best of luck to you for getting it sorted somewhere.

That sort of timescale (January 2023 sounds optimistic) is how long I'm expecting this to take to get treated, if the attempts to get an appointment at my local practice today are anything to go by.

No doubt I'll be walking around with a tooth looking like a eroded cliff face for the next 10 weeks at least.

Best of luck I don't turn to dust before actually getting a appointment, but thanks either way.

In addition, my mental health is gonna tank completely, to say nothing of my self-image. I didn't think too highly of my physical appearence before, but now...

Sounds utterly hyperbolic I know, but on top of everything else I've had to deal with in terms of family/personal health this year, this is just piling on when I really, really could be doing without it...

Never comes at a good time, does it.

I've lived with a chipped tooth for nearly 15 years, for the most part it's tolerable but in this year's warmer weather it has caused me discomfort. Hoping that I can make arrangements for dental insurance through my job perks.

It never does. Seems to go out of it's way to come at the most inconvenient of times.

This is the first time one of my teeth has partially come apart like this, the back half is holding firm while the front has all but disintegrated. It's not outright painful, but I think a visit to the dental hospital is in order now before it gets any colder.
