    Special Offers Discussion

There is a token in today's Daily Mirror. Page 30. Also big article on Labour's rail announcement so I might even read a bit rather than just rip out the token! It says "1 token" on the token.so I assume it means that rather than "token 1" so that combined with yesterday's I now have enough...

    Special Offers Discussion

Another vote of thanks for the Daily Mirror tip. Is it known what days the tokens appear?

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Frequency matters though. How frequent is the H1 and relevant 1 service? A tram served park and ride in Nottingham has a tram every 10 mins in the daytime which is basically turn up and go.

If MML electrification is ever completed, could 810s be cascaded

I think all the "pure electric" have one gen set per train for emergencies and shunting. I also belive the gen sets have shorter lifespans than the trains so having a larger number that you can swap in and out is also useful.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I think this quote from the ORR saying that they are still willing to grant a temporary execemption while they fit CDL is very generous of the ORR. I wouldn't if I was them!

    Cornwall Metro funding approved

I got briefly overexcited and thought they were saying this May and couldn't see how they would get the loop done in time! I found the website interesting in which benefits it highlights. On this forum people often get obsessed with the benefits or otherwise of the end to end journey of the...

    LT Museum, Covent Garden

TFL are not state funded to run a museum they are state funded to run a transport service. The national railway museum is part of the science museum and state funded as a national museum. The transport museum isn't. I doubt you will find many other people voting with their wallet over this...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I don't like the phrase "common sense" as I think people actually mean "experience". People don't experience slam door stock in their normal lives anymore. They certainly don't normally have to consider things may suddenly stick out of a train going past.

    June 2024 Timetable Change

But people can take the EMR twice an hour intercity services to change at Derby or Sheffield respectively.

    June 2024 Timetable Change

But they haven't got these extra trains yet hence the hopefully temporary changes until they arrive.

    ASLEF strikes 5th-8th April weekend

I cannot get my head around how people on this forum seriously think the drivers that keep voting overwhelming for strike action in a secret ballot for each TOC every six months somehow would also vote for the current offer and to end the strike! I don't work for the railway but I understand...

    Derailment near Grange Over Sands

Surely they can rustle up suitable route conductors and take them the long way round the Cumbrian coast?

New edition of the National Rail Conditions of Travel effective 2 April 2024

Does this mean they are going to try not paying delay repay to season ticket holders for strike days?

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

It was effectively their position by seeking the judicial review. The judge ruled it was fair and that the ORR weren't being mean.

The PM was at a Trent Barton depot but have they actually been awarded any funding under this round?

    Hope Valley Capacity Scheme updates

Am I interperting the diagram correctly that the change over of control to York happens part way down the loop? Is that normal for one box/panel to control the entrance to a loop and a different one control the exit?

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

As has already been said this already exists and has for many years in the robinhood card. Successful (pre COVID) public transport improvement bids included extending this or a simular system to Derby so I assume this is still on the cards but I suspect is awaiting the forming of the East...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

Because some of those people died. We as a society have rightly decided that people shouldn't be exposed to a risk of dying on a tourist attraction especially when that risk can be easily avoided.
