Eurotunnel recruiting Drivers/Train Captains for Folkestone

No one said it's a dead end career move and it will certainly give you good experience of long, heavy trains but you aren't trained in NR rules as it's a closed system.

Eurotunnel recruiting Drivers/Train Captains for Folkestone

That's correct. Eurotunnel Drivers don't count as a Qualified Driver on the UK national network.

LNER running trains empty to Glasgow Central

It runs for Drivers route learning and knowledge retention. To run it with passengers would require rostering of a Guard and to run it daily but a training train can be cancelled if it isn't required.

    Do trains have a clutch?

No there isn't a clutch and you can't stall the engine in that way either. The 156 has a 2 stage transmission which is a torque converter up to 45mph when it changes to a fluid flywheel. You can hear the engine revs drop when it changes over. There is a foot pedal called the DSD (Drivers Safety...

The train wouldn't move in that instance.

Grand Union's proposed Stirling – Euston service now authorised by ORR

I guess all those 125mph test runs done for the 397s were for no reason at all? It was certainly mentioned many times during the early days of 397s being built and tested although it has since gone quiet. They are labelled for 125mph in the cabs too.

Train Drivers and Operational Managers - we want to hear from you!

Assuming the survey includes London Underground you can drive from 18 and you can begin training for a main line operator at 20 although you can't drive alone until 21.

Trainee Infrastructure Monitoring Train Driver - Colas Rail

The Infrastructure Monitoring trains are the yellow Network Rail trains (usually a locomotive at each end sandwiching converted coaches or the HST) you set buzzing around the country. Colas are the current contract holders to provide Drivers , I don't work for them so can't comment on what...

    Northern Training Leeds

Rostering doesn't work that way and there is no "later link". You'll be expected to work all the shifts in the link working through the weeks in turn but you might be able to do a mutual swap on a daily or weekly basis with someone for their later starts if they want your earlies and that's...

    Northern Training Leeds

This is a 24/7 industry so you will be expected to work whatever your rostered turn is and that will include 05:00 and earlier starts. You might be lucky and find someone to swap turns with you but that's not guaranteed and don't expect favours from the company so you can drop your kids off at...

    PTS Course Dress Code???

The only person who is able to confirm what you need to wear for the practical element is the person delivering the course. Follow the instructions you've been given already and ask when you get there.

TPE to go 2-hourly Glasgow/Edinburgh on WCML from June (still at 110mph?)

In 2015 the TPE 350 would have been in service for around 12 months so you're not far off. The double sets only ran at weekends so it depends which day of the week you travelled but I don't think that service was one of the booked 8 coach trains.

TPE to go 2-hourly Glasgow/Edinburgh on WCML from June (still at 110mph?)

There's only 1 link at Preston and the North West link at Piccadilly already sign the Chat Moss so it's really just getting Preston crews back into it.

TPE to go 2-hourly Glasgow/Edinburgh on WCML from June (still at 110mph?)

That is being addressed and the route learning is underway.

Welsh / Scottish railway and Sunday working.

It looks like an older link but timings seems to match up to some Glasgow turns too. If I remember rightly Carlisle depot is CE but it has been a few years since I last saw a Carlisle duty.
