Labour promises rail nationalisation within five years of coming to power

Of course it would have happened without privatisation. The TOCs haven’t invested anything to do with any of what you’ve stated.

RMT Industrial Action Update to members

Considering CrossCountry have now told the RMT they can no longer represent supervisory and clerical grades in negotiations regarding pay and Ts and Cs, I think it’s clear the DFT, on behalf of the government have decided war is the only way forward. CrossCountry are now being balloted for...

RMT Industrial Action Update to members

If the article regarding Northern is accurate then there is next to no chance of a deal being agreed. Nearly all of those conditions are completely unacceptable. Change of government badly needed.

ASLEF announce five days of strike action on LNER due to potential implementation of Minimum Service Law

Would be the first time during the whole dispute that Thameslink have run trains on ASLEF strike days. Don’t think Southern have run anything either though 1705606987 Possibly, but makes me wonder…

GTR also plan to run a shuttle service on ASLEF strike days. Nothing additional called…

    RMT strike referendum passed

8.7% rise for the lowest earners on £20,000, 7% for those on £25,000. …And no changes to T&Cs. For the lowest paid railway staff it’s really not a bad deal at all.

    RMT strike referendum passed

It’s a big fat L for the government though. Everything they have tried to do and implement has failed. The final nail in the coffin was their embarrassing u turn on ticket offices…and what followed is the rest of the dominoes that fell down. There will be no changes to T&Cs next year either...

    RMT strike referendum passed

Everyone’s jumping into the higher tax bracket for that month then

    RMT strike referendum passed

I also would like to know why this can’t be done?

    RMT strike referendum passed

Good luck getting the T&C changes next year by offering 4% lol.

    RMT strike referendum passed

One thing for certain is that they are definitely not going to get a raft of T&C changes next year now for just 4% alone. At least with their original offer they could say to staff if you accept you’ll get 9%+ over 2 years. Now they can’t do that. Take the L on the chin RDG.

    RMT strike referendum passed

Backdated pay has never been split before. Really can’t see that being the case.

    RMT Dispute - Ended

Yep, pretty much. GA said they could “hopefully” pay it in December. Thameslinks payday is tomorrow, and is the last one before Xmas. But let’s see…

    RMT Dispute - Ended

That’s if you actually trust the TOCs to pay it in before Xmas. I’m not so convinced.

    Possible Movement in RMT Dispute.

Greater Anglia already saying they might not be able to pay in any back pay for December…

    Possible Movement in RMT Dispute.

Backpay will be paid on overtime, shift allowances, regional allowances. Everything that makes up your day to day pay will be backdated.

    Possible Movement in RMT Dispute.

Waiting for a slightly different offer by this time next week and then it’ll be time for a TOC by TOC referendum on the offers.

Ticket Office closures no longer going ahead

This government is a pathetic joke. What a waste of everyone’s time, deliberately sabotaging industrial relations and staff morale. Time for Mark Harper to resign and time for the DFT to move aside and finally put an end to the strikes by putting forward a genuine pay deal.

    Ongoing ASLEF overtime bans

I guess because Sunday is the biggest earner for those that choose to work.
