    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

It's not so much the Dalmeny part that will cost more However it will cost more for the Forth Bridge than normal. Then of course major works on Kinghorn Tunnel. Dalmeny is the easy part. It's all part of Aberdeen to the Central Belt but providing Fife Circle on the way. as well as Levenmouth.

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

Really thought myself that all the hype had a lot to do with an election coming up. Of course it for the UK government to create more Barnet consequential for electrification to Scotland Strangely there has recently been announced electrification of the North Wales line. With works in East...

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

1718651550 The current 769 test runs are to prove that they can be made reliable. Then some company may sign a lease for them. As the Fife electrification crosses the Forth Bridge into Fife the electric mode would get bigger. However no electricity feed has so far been installed from Haymarket...

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

1718282316 Would think the recent work on Dalmeny has been only to keep the electrification crews busy. There currently is no signed off money to the scheme Although you would never believe that can election is pending.woukd you

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

These are on the previously constructed OHL when the Edinburgh to Glasgow line was electrified. Will need a good bit more work with new piling and mast erection to get to Dalmeny. Probably better on the masts than lying in a store compound that could disappear.

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

Fife electrification will form a part of the East section of Aberdeen to the Central Belt. However a solution to the Kirkcaldy part will need to include a certain tunnel that could cost lots of cash to get through. Even worse go around. Maybe the immediate solution is to electrify the...

Eurostar St Pancras - is bedlam normal?

Maybe we should dust off the North of London Eurostar plans again. Not all passengers live around London. Many make long journeys from the north to get to St Pancras. It's hardly a surprise that it can be a bit of a shambles, particularly at Holiday weekends and the Annual Holiday Months. Last...

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

The Scottish Government few funds for electrification are being spent on the East Kilbride project. As is the contractor. So probably not a lot will change in Fife till that is completed. Then there is the slight problem of a tunnel to consider in Fife that will take a lot of cash to solve.

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

Any train delivered from the factory, whether brand new or returned for work will probably not be accepted to the fleet. In all probability the mileage test may or will have been returned to zero for a another test free milage to accumulate. Livery is not really a sign of acceptance and is...

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

Although it must be said that the ECML does see a good number of Passenger trains and little electric freight trains. In some areas dual mode trains are running on diesel for now. Till upgrades are completed On the WCML the OHL to Manchester and Liverpool was installed in the Mid 60s and is...
