    GWR Class 150s

    Good, can't stand them

    GWR Class 150s

Hasn't it already been mentioned the TFW 150s wouldn't get through the next major exam without some very serious work on the frames, hence GWR not wanting them, or am I making that up?

    Class 175 to GWR

But if there is an opportunity to put a better seat in, why not. Some (most) of the drivers seats in the 150s for instance are God awful, nothing more than a flip down bench.

Could Meldon Quarry stone trains start again?

If the paths are still in, why would running the trains at night be less attractive?

Could Meldon Quarry stone trains start again?

I was told that there are still stone paths in the system, NR won't give them up, hence why there isn't a later last train to Okehampton on a Friday (like there is to Barnstaple) and the service starts later in the mornings.

Train crew actions: Passengers refusing to pay/get off train.

You are spot on, no, I am not interested in the confrontation. I am not paid to be confrontational.

    Class 175 to GWR

Yes, the diagrams are on this forum somewhere. Also I think (again it's on this forum somewhere) that the timetables for the PNZ-EXD (formally PNZ-CDF 5 car IET) no longer shows a 1st class ticket, I assume so that a 175 can be dropped into the diagram.

Not even a whiff of dates for guard training yet and before us comes the drivers.

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

I think this is a good idea, plenty of regular questions in the forum, happy to rename this thread.

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Absolutely and not restricted to neurodiverseity, 15 years as a nurse it never ceased to amaze me how people became a hostage to their own beliefs.

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

I enjoy reading (only 2 or 3 particular authors).... Tried an audio book last year, didn't enjoy it as much as a physical book 1736686597 Thanks @yorkie, no, nothing like that on this thread but as you know it does happen here and the internet generally isn't always the kindest place, but...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Since my diagnosis I have read 2 books: Unmasking Autism: The Power of Embracing Our Hidden Neurodiversity by Dr Devon Price and Unmasked by Elle Middleton. Unmasked is a must read for newly diagnosed.

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

I have subscribed to Railwellbeing and keep meaning to watch it, I will do now. 1736632973 I was about to do the whole, I've been a member of the RMT since I joined the railway and Unison for 20 years as a Nurse, then I remembered I'm autistic as I took you literally , I've only got one...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Thanks for sharing. Indeed the self doubt and the apprehension can be crippling can't it. Its interesting, I remember a job nearly 15 years ago it was a big step up (and possibly at the start I had bitten off a little more than I could chew) but I couldnt understand why I felt like I needed to...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

I made this comment as having been on this forum for many years and seen countless comments like this; and the nature of humanity (and internet forums in general) there is a small subset of people who have this attitude and it's just not helpful, nor welcome. 1736576089 From my own observation...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Thank you for posting these, I certainly can relate, especially to the first (freight driver). I looked on the RMT site, a tad disappointing, just a TUC paper from 2014.... such a shame really 1736542343 Indeed, attitudes are changing, its taken me a fair few months to pluck up the courage to...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Yes, we have a few mutual swaps, it's something I am considering as our depot is rather top heavy with accommodated shifts so could be an easier route. My body clock deals with lates and earlies ok (with a preference for lates) just not the swapping between the two. As you say a higher chance...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Hello, thanks for the reply, it's really appreciated. Although only recently diagnosed, obviously I have been autistic all my life. What I find most surprising and I am struggling with the most is how much I mask and how tiring it actually is. Someone once described me as "born tired", also...

Neurodiversity & working on the railway

Edit to rename the thread. I created this thread seeking advice from fellow on train crews after receiving my diagnosis of Autism, while the diagnosis doesn't change who I am, it gives me the opportunity (now I know what makes me different) to be able make changes to my life to make my work...
