    Class 170 WSP racks

That's good to know. We have worked with Porterbrook while overhauling the defunct Soprano HVAC PLC's from the 458's. WSP seems to one of the major things our customers are looking to us for support these days.

Thanks guys, I have a couple of contacts at Porterbrook, but nothing at Eversholt. We are looking to build a test rig, so any help at all could be useful.

    Class 376: no air-con

Let's just say that I believe that you are mistaken, here's a photo one one of the old Soprano HVAC units from the 334's that we are currently repairing, please note that it is clearly marked Saloon.

    Class 376: no air-con

I think you are perhaps mistaken. We have both cab and saloon plc HVAC controllers in our workshop right now and I have the PO and Alstom DTR numbers to go with the repairs. Also, your link mentions that aircon\HVAC will be fitted, but does not mention that the 334's never had it in the first...

    Class 376: no air-con

334's do have air con. The oem supplier was a French company called Soprano who went bust about 18 months ago. This affected Alstom's 334 180, 175 and 458, we have been supporting with the overhaul and repair of the PLC controllers for the affected HVAC units.

Anyone heading to Innotrans next month?

Thanks for the links, it really is a great show and gives us a glimpse in to the future. I'm hoping to catch up with some of the European lightrail operators such as Keolis, Transdev and RAPT amongst others.

Anyone heading to Innotrans next month?

This will be my 2nd visit to the Innotrans show in Berlin, I was blown away on my first trip by the scale of it and the products on display. I will be there for the whole week, so if anyone is going please let me know.

    Jeremy Corbyn's Traingate

Indeed, he is a loathsome cretin. The man is nothing more than a left wing protester, not a leader in anyway shape or form and hopefully will back where he belongs next month.

    Best Aircon ?

We have it down on our label as an "HVAC control unit" have you tried running the mechanical side of the HVAC system without it?

    Embarrassing problem regarding the toilets

We are working on a few toilet door control units for both standard and disabled access doors for several class of vehicles, the problem is quite common, with a bit of luck we will get the TOC's out of the sh*t:wink:

They definitely have MK2 carriages, I was talking about the repair support for the PA Driver to Guard system earlier this week.

Rail renationalisation- do you support it?

I think it would start badly and get steadily worse. The system we have is by no means perfect but the alternative is unthinkable.

Tyne & Wear Metro: Fleet Refurbishment List

I've not seen their CCTV gear but we have repaired a lot of Petards\Joyce Loebl telephone driver handsets.

Tyne & Wear Metro: Fleet Refurbishment List

Thanks for this info. I now have what I think is the correct engineering contact and have sent him and email re our support. Hopefully they will spare me some time as the TW Metro is just about the only lightrail\Metro site in the UK & Ireland that we don't currently support and I'm guessing...

Electrical Obsolescence on rolling stock, getting worse or better?

That's correct, many parts on older trains are now obsolete, but that's where we are helping the rail sector as we offer a repair and overhaul solution for electrical parts that no longer have a clear supply chain solution via the oem. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Do you...
