I have done it with a manager present. They enquired why I had done so and tried to claim "safety system" like you have done.
I asked them to show me in the rulebook where it forbids it. I am still waiting as I am not DOO.
I was asked to not do it, but was not ordered to do so.
Politely -
You say it is not appropriate. That's your opinion and fair enough.
But you are not a driver. And you haven't worked these units. It is ridiculously loud, added to the welsh/English announcements the last thing you want is some pretend stars in your eyes effort.
It is pointless...
It is 100% true.
Basically there is a massive issue between what was specified and what happens. Until it is sorted then they will not be coupled outside of a depot.
Evidence - I sign them, but have not coupled one, and have to return for additional training when it is finally sorted.
It's...
The rulebook only relates to a DOO train with the PA.
By virtue that the guard is causing the problem this negates the rulebook requirement.
And DOTE is irrelevant for this as well for that company. So the first paragraph of your retort is moot. Its extremely unprofessional to use the pa as...
No.
The saloon ones. Nice leather headrest, comfortable and decent leg room.
People seem fascinated by names of seats. They are configured differently for each train.
They are good.
The seats are very comfortable. I don't care who made them, they are more than sufficient.
I've sat in them for hours. Not looked off a sketch of a unit that isn't the same.
The licence is applied for on completion of Part A training.
They can drive as it is in process, and they will have a licence number. The rules got tightened up around 2017
Nowadays that is simply impossible, and grounds for the companies safety certificate being ripped up. I did it without licence like you but it is a lot stricter now.
No one can drive on network rail infrastructure without holding a licence issued by the ORR. This is covered under the TDLCR...
They are a national standard requirement. A record of which is held by the ORR and forms the basis of the licence application.
The examiner has to be verified as well. Not a tick in the box thing.
I don't get the question.
Do you mean minimum length or period of probation.
There is no minimum. Once you are in you are in as long as you play nice.
But they can withdraw employment during your probation period which is usually 12 months.
A few things are wrong in this.
1. They aren't adding any additional resources to the mid Cheshire line. It's one link of one depot that signs it. Same as it ever was.
2. To re-route the services away from castlefield it would take roughly 100 drivers worth of route learning to do so from 3...
It's completely different.
The data belongs to the train company - granted. But its usage and access are strictly controlled for specific purposes. Each OTMR is stamped with the drivers identifier.
Driver managers can and do dip sample them and this is more than welcomed.
Anyone outside of...
Indeed.
If I was still repping I would hit the roof if I found this sort of monitoring taking place outside of driver development/competency management.
I'd go as far to say it's grounds for a dispute - management and staff sides are required to be transparent in this sort of thing. All our...
Ecs moves also use position lights for movements.
Forbidden without specific permission with pax on board.
They also get used to test points/loops which are not for passenger service.
