Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

I believe FM36 has went on loan to Elgin, so its possibly that.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Common sense would dictate that 27105s engine and running gear could be used to repair and reinstate 27917. It doesn't surprise me that 27105 wouldn't be repaired considering the extent of the structural damage combined with the age of the vehicle.

Trivia: Rare and unusual bus and coach types

Most of the Aberdeen Hydrogen-powered Vanhool A330s still exist. The only one known to have been scrapped is Ex-Stagecoach 29903. The rest went to various technical colleges and research institutes in the UK, Northern Ireland and Denmark. Two examples remain in the Aberdeen area, Ex-Stagecoach...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

To be fair its not something unique to the X99. Most of the coaches in the Stagecoach fleet group wide are knackered and in need of replacement.

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

53715 is withdrawn, 53703 officially replaced it at Elgin. Highly unlikely, aside from the fact they don't need any additional vehicles at present keep in mind the vehicle requirement at Bluebird is being reduced from next month.

    Build Quality of New Models

Was it not the other way round? The initial batch (for the 26) have Civic V3 seats which up to that point would've been the standard specification for new McGill's vehicles based on the Enviro200MMCs ordered in 2019, the subsequent vehicles for the 23 and 38 along with those delivered in 2023...

    First Aberdeen

Indeed just 38219 and 38223 are left. 38219 was on the 2 today, but surprised 38223 was out given it needs new fuel injectors.

    Build Quality of New Models

From an Aberdeen perspective i can also vouch for the quality of the Yutongs, they're also really popular with drivers and mechanics. Additionally local independent Watermill Coaches operates a number of Yutong TC9s on service work within Aberdeenshire and i've also found them to be really nice...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

It works the 5:30 from Inverness the following morning, having the vehicle stay overnight at Inverness saves the extra mileage and driver resources of having an extra journey from Inverness to Elgin and back. Latterly the 415 was just an evening variation of the 215 which bypassed Hillside Road...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

53735 has been rough ever since it arrived but its luxury compared to the other two. The only reason Bluebird took them on is because they're already Euro 6 compliant. The running joke is that they deliberately send Levantes on the 10 duty that outstations overnight at Inverness as they know it...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

The internal consultation with local authorities and stakeholders was launched last month with the changes proposed for the 20th of May. The only significant proposed changes in Moray are the M96 moving to Highlands and the 32 being rerouted to serve College of Roseisle. The bulk of the changes...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

The issue isn't down to the number of coaches its the quality of the coaches, 53731 for example has spent much of the last year restricted to working the 33A/33C only due to coolant retention issues... Similarly 53734 often gets refused due to the fact practically nothing on it works how it...

Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird and Highland)

Triaxles are not suitable for the 10. Those older B9Rs are coming off once the M96 transfers to Inverness.

"Out of form" (i.e. non-ADL) Stagecoach orders

Quite surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet but in the last two and a half years Highlands have taken delivery of 57 (yes 57...) Volvo B8RLE MCV Evoras, 25 Yutong E10s, 9 Optare Solo SRs, 6 Mercedes Tourismos, 3 Scania Mobi-People Explorers and 2 Mercedes-Benz Spinter EVM Citylines. Essentially...

    Scottish Citylink

Something which seems to have gone unnoticed is that one journey each way on the M9 now extends to London overnight at weekends replacing the M11X. Initially i thought this was perhaps just a data error however last night i passed a McLeans Futura heading southbound near Forfar on the 20:00 M9...

    Scottish Citylink

The Traveline timetables at the time showed them as Thursday to Sunday southbound and Friday to Sunday northbound.

No, the timetable makes it pretty clear it means Fridays.

Trivia: Rare and unusual bus and coach types

In all fairness while not rare i wouldn't say they were that common either. It really comes down to where in the country you lived. The Volvo B7L chassis replaced the B10BLE at the turn of the century, however it never met its expected sales in part due to the interior layout but also just due...

Trivia: Rare and unusual bus and coach types

Although the specification of that particular example is unique. The Volvo B7L/Wright Eclipse Metro combination probably wouldn't be regarded as rare in itself given 259 were built.

    Scottish Citylink

The timetable on Traveline along with the Citylink journey planner don't show the summer journeys on the 919 for some reason. Its only one journey each way on the M8, i suspect its more a case of it being better to reallocate the resource elsewhere. I did mention in my previous post that the...
