    North London line’s future capacity

Sizewell C. My mistake. My apologies. I'll amend the opening post.

Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

Uploaded last night! A nice surprise. I'll watch it this afternoon. Many thanks

    North London line’s future capacity

An article in the current issue of Modern Railways about Sizewell C says the contractors have requested four freight paths a day each way along the North London Line (NLL) and the Great Eastern Mainline. A second article discusses how Bow Yard will be expanded and will generate more freight...

    Youtube links and Video sites

This very new in-cab video provides as a bonus a good view of the Cambridge South Station still under construction. Anglia Cab Rides is a splendid supplier of in-can videos.

Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

I'm particularly looking forward to Piccadilly to Reading because the southern half of that route does not yet have a high quality in-cab video. So, many thanks in advance.

Chord at Newark to Allow Nottingham-Doncaster-the NorthEast trains?

I agree. I've thought that for a very long time. If big money is going to be spent in the Newark area, it should be for a flyover taking the Lincoln/Nottingham line over the ECML, rendering the current flat crossing redundant.

    BTP CORRUPTION – APPEAL

I didn't know about this. It's horrifying. Thank you for helping to rectify matters.

Elizabeth Line Platform Gaps - BBC News

Most of those millions do not have a problem with the platform height. I'm in my late 70s and I've never had difficulty at Ealing Broadway and I've never noticed anyone else having difficulty. 1718191899 Almost none. Most of the passengers using the Elizabeth Line were already travelling by...

    Youtube links and Video sites

A new YouTube video - - from New Bilton (Rugby area) to Willesden provides rare glimpses of the stub of the closed route from Rugby to Leamington Spa and also the layout of the site at Willesden.

Thank you. That's not long to wait.

Very good news! When is this likely to go live?

    Recent line closures

The rationale behind restoring that section of track is to provide a link to Old Oak Common Station from various places along the Chiltern Line. I don't think anyone imagines that it would be a faster route to Birmingham than HS2.

    Recent line closures

I'd certainly support re-opening the Wycombe Lines if a connection to Old Oak Common was the intended result.

Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

Don Coffey has uploaded a new video so far unmentioned in this thread. It's a second look at the Bradley Wood single line. There's evidence that the vegetation has been cut back in places. Network Rail can do it when they try!

    Recent line closures

In the past few years, construction of Old Oak Common Station has closed the section of track between there and Park Royal sidings.

What is the point of Old Oak Common?

I don't know why you stick with the rest of your previous message. The map you've provided shows very clearly that the distance between OOC and Willesden Junction is about twice that between the eastern end of OOC and the West London Line. Walking along the canal tow path from Scrubs Lane to...

What is the point of Old Oak Common?

A new southern entrance and exit was provided at Blackfriars Station when that was rebuilt. A link has now been provided between Hackney Central and Hackney Downs. There is no good reason why something similar should not be arranged for a new station which will undoubtedly become a major public...

What is the point of Old Oak Common?

I don't know how you've arrived at that conclusion. Old Oak Common Station will have very long platforms to cater for HS2 trains. The eastern end of those platforms will be pretty close to the West London Line, so moving by travellator will not take several minutes. The one at Gatwick Airport...

    Jubilee line extension beyond Stratford

This is a speculative thread within the Speculative Forum and ideas flow freely! With Posts 2, 4 & 7, the notion of the Jubilee Line being extended was knocked on the head. More realistic alternatives were then offered. At Marylebone some platforms regularly accommodate two separate trains...

Don Coffey cab ride video discussion

I've just watched this. Thanks very much. I'm pleased that Mr. Clark has filmed other EMR journeys and I hope that some at least will be to or from Nottingham. Nottingham to Grantham and Nottingham to Trowell South Junction and Peterborough to Ely all still lack an in-cab video with decent...
