Halifax- Ovenden- Queensbury/Bradford
We lost our line pre Beeching before the urbanisation that led to my house and many others being built in the 60s/70s
I live in Halifax. To me anything that speeds up Leeds- Halifax, Bradford- Halifax- Manchester, Leeds- Calder Valley stations and Huddersfield- Calder Valley stations connectivity is welcome
I always thought the penalty was 7 minutes (2 minutes in, 3 minutes for the crew to change ends and 2 minutes out). But I'm sure someone will correct me
But STM is a crayonista vehicle for a 16 year old with no official status and no access to funding for any of its projects. I wish it well but don't see it making much progress
Is the Lords as pro HS2 as the Commons? And isn't this just 2a? Thought 2b which includes Manchester hasn't started its passage yet? Can anything get Royal Assent before the election ?

Harry Burr is 16. George Marshall is a University student. So not much
Realtime trains shows no through service to London from Basingstoke
With Basingstoke- Reading, Salisbury/Exeter/Yeovil, Woking , Portsmouth and Weymouth/Poole services running
No service at Fleet, Winchfield and Hook stations
I wonder how long that plan will carry on for ?
Bradford, Halifax, Hull, Middlesbrough, Rochdale, Sheffield should all have been wired 30 years ago IMHO as should Manchester- Sheffield and Leeds- Sheffield and possibly Newcastle- Carlisle. I guess whether any of them get done now is a very moot point given the finances
I thouight York to Whitby via Pickering had been in journey planners and on RTT for some time. Unfortunately it's in dire danger of being withdrawn as a commercial route by Transdev in April.
i would think about putting Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike back on the railway and improving Bradford- Wakefield direct connectivity
Also Barnsley to Doncaster via Wath maybe should be considered
The Bradford schemes and the tunnel aren't happening because they were dismissed as too expensive. Pretty sure the tunnel was £8bn and the Bradford scheme was an extra £8bn on top of the agreed scheme in IRP
