    Most Hated Bus

Burnley bought some of these in 2001 and they were very good vehicles, build quality was rattle free seats comfy and they're still in service now and tbh a lot better than the Wright's geminis that came after them

    Transdev Blazefield

I would have thought cutting the skipton frequency would make sense, very hard to keep to schedule over such a long route, especially getting in and out of Manchester could revert to mainline working or even bring back the old X28 reducing the vehicle requirement for X43

    Best bus driven or passenger

Old school would be a batch of y type short leopards that Burnley and pendle had bit bouncy but really comfortable seats and pretty rapid, more recent are Volvo Volvo b10ble/renowns also in Burnley pushing 20 years old but still the best vehicles in the fleet fro a passenger perspective and I...

    Best bus driven or passenger

Agreed, best buses Burnley ever bought should still be on mainline duties way better than the versas and their rattly harsh ride

    Heritage dmus on mainline tours

I like the 104s&105s as they were mainly the ones that ran local to me, used to often ride in the guards van bit as my younger sister was in a pram

    Heritage dmus on mainline tours

Do heritage dmu's ever run on mainline routes? I've always fancied the idea of a 104 or 105 running the colne to Preston line like when I was a kid, but I'd imagine it's a safety aspect that prevents certification for mainline running, forgive my ignorance haven't been an enthusiast for long...

    Bus Quality

There been a decline by some manufacturers over the last 20 years, blazefield bought a large amount of b10ble/Wright renowns in the early 00s which are reliable, have good legroom and headroom even at the rear, dont rattle over every bump and pothole and are still in all day service...

Class 141s - How far from Yorkshire did they get?

Possibly, I was very young at the time but I do remember it took my interest as it looked like a leyland national when it pulled in to the station

    Oldest buses in service

Transdev Burnley still run a number of X and Y reg b10ble/renowns, they had a refit about 7 years ago then were repainted last year still probably the best vehicles in the fleet also a few Y reg plaxton deckers at keighley from the same era

    Strangest bus destination screens?

Accrington corporation buses used to run to "load of mischief " the name of a local pub, and Burnley used to run a service to "bleak house"

    Skipton-Colne 1970

Been a political football for decades, current Tory mp is keen to see it reopened but lot of opposition from residents along the mostly intact old track bed, plus would need a lot of strengthening work on the colne and Burnley viaducts if freight trains or longer passenger units were to use...

Class 141s - How far from Yorkshire did they get?

They were trialled on the Blackpool to colne line for a short time I remember catching one from Preston to colne as a kid, they had questionnaires for passengers to fill in regarding suggestions and comments on them

    Leyland National: Success or Failure?

Our local company Burnley and pendle was a keen national user buying 15 mk 1, 7 national 2s, and a further 17 second hand mk1s and 6 mk2s the mk1s ran for 13 years til the new manager got rid due to a dislike of the 510 engine, all of them went for further service, the mk2s...
