    as did the 2SAPs used on Windsor/Weybridge services for some years. BILs (and later CORs) were used on the Reading (and Aldershot) line until replaced by CIGs and VEPs (all of which had toilets).

    I'm pleased to say that the trial seems to have been stopped in that escalators have been going up and down at both ends (normally two up at the bank of 3) on recent visits later in the day.

    Almost all the trains as the current timetable is primarily Chester to Crewe shuttles and Chester to London Avanti services (some of which go through to or towards Holyhead)

    Normally seems to be actioned after the weekday morning peak (around 0930). I was told that it's partly designed to encourage people with prams and/or luggage to use the lifts by getting them to walk past them (on their way otherwise to reach the country end down escalators). It seems to work...

    my understanding is that they are the first of the "normal" drivers at various depots to be trained and they seem happy with the sets.
