    Belfast Grand Central

Moving the enterprise service here must mean a two hour service is possible (fastest now is 2hrs 5mins)

Victoria & south london resignalling phase 5: what actually changes on the ground?

The new signal gantry re-sitings at Tulse Hill; does anyone know if it will allow the 700s to use the full length of the platform?

Where else in the UK could tramways/light rail be installed?

I think all the obvious places based on population have been mentioned apart from Leicester

    Epping Ongar Railway

If they ever get the connection direct to Epping, it will really boost the numbers. But visiting last year its really quite a complex undertaking, not least because LUL still use what would need to be a connecting line as a head shunt and replacement platforms would be needed on an awkward site...

How could the Elizabeth line expand?

Only one I'd add to that is the line to Tring which has already been studied and rejected (and possibly is totally out now due to OOC work not making provision for it) but might in future have a point if circumstances change.

How could the Elizabeth line expand?

Most likely extensions at the moment seem to be from Heathrow T5 to Staines and from Abbey Wood towards Dartford and maybe all the way to Gravesend.

    London Victoria Gateline

It's taking time to rip out the sandwich shops and put in extra gates. Cant remember ever seeing work actually being carried out; Is there some regulation that work can only occur after hours?

How could Island Line be improved? Could a 32/28 minute frequency work? Any other suggestions?

Close Smallbrook and have the IOWSR use the second track to St. John? Would cost several million to fully separate the two railways at SJ though.

But possibly would save 5 minutes on the journey to Lanyon place?

Belfast Dublin Enterprise service upgrade funded

Is it actually quad-mode? As in under electric mode it will be 25KV AC *and* 1.5kv DC?

The San Jose BART extension and making changes to cut costs

Its obviously a bit finger in the air, but It's; A single bore / single trip by the TBM (which has already been bought) Vs. Twin bores / two passes by a TBM (that seems like would have to be bought again to a different size). Plus extra excavation outside the tunnel for the platforms, plus...

    Gallery cars in Chicago

Yes they are still in use from when I was there last fall; and still being used so the conductor can check tickets on the gallery level from the bottom level.

    New EMUs for CP Portugal

I think the Cascais line was originally electrified by one of Alstom's predecessor companies, so appropriate they are supplying the next lot of rolling stock (only the third in the lines existence?)

    Waterloo station masterplan

The elephant in the room is the Elizabeth House development which seems to have stalled; it gained planning permission in 2021 but was it due to be reviewed?

How many National Rail stations don't have gatelines? (estimates welcome)

Actually how many stations have a gateline* now that isn't automatic? *not counting a line on the ground demarcating the paid/non paid areas; I mean actual points where passengers are funneled past a ticket inspection point which is likely to be manned. Euston (mostly) Manchester Piccadilly and...

Could electrically-heated steam locos be a solution for preserved railways?

I was watching an episode of Thomas the tank engine, (called I think 'Thomas and the forest engines') where the whole 'plot' was wood burners had last less range than Thomas due to wood being less energy dense. Obviously I get all my kettle tech knowledge from Thomas....

    Euston new weatherspoons

New Weatherspoons; The Capt. Flinders round the corner from the station on Eversholt Street. (Former lapdancing place 'Sophisticats') Welcome addition to the current Euston options Usual spoons experience, just had a reasonable breakfast but the most remarkable thing is it still has a 'new...

    Thameslink: final state?

Is the current Thameslink service in its final state? Are there tweaks to timetabling/diagrams/rosters that are planned or are needed? Is ATO in the central section 100% operational on all services? I'm a regular passenger through the Central core and subjectively it feels the service is...
