Not when it happened to me! I had to buy a separate ticket and so claimed back for the hovercraft part of the trip.

That's sort of the same issue. You are already behind the gateline at Waterloo East with that route. If you select a route that avoids Farringdon - in affect forcing a tube connection to St Pancras and entering the barriers there, the price goes up!

Can anyone explain why the armrest nearest the window on the trains that run to Weymouth etc is fixed rather than moveable? It looks as though it could have been movable but has been deliberately fixed.

As it happens I was thinking about changing at Farringdon as the direct service isn't so convenient timewise! Good to know that it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I think the Dartford ticket works out slightly cheaper than the travelcard option as I have an ENCTS pass. I don't really want to travel back from Welling to Woolwich at the end of the day which would obviously be the cheapest option!

I am planning to travel from St Albans to Woolwich next Tuesday off peak but probably returning same day from Welling. I have a Senior Railcard. Is there a suitable ticket that will allow this or am I better off going back to Woolwich at the end of the day? Phil

You may well be correct that it's the case rather than the phone. Certainly, every time I store my ticket in one of the card slots in the case, it ceases to work the barriers. Never occurred to me till now that it might not be the phone's fault!
