Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Hadn't realised that another xlb had been written off, what were the circumstances for that one again?

Making the best and what he's limited to do, I suspect

    Piccadilly Line Video Recordings

This is indeed the case. Still think it's a shame that his original way of producing content was brought to an end, apart from that one, possibly ill-advised video where it showed him actually driving, there was no distraction that I could think of of him having a GoPro stuck in the window and...

Thank you for that, really very interesting.

    Easyjet news

I use the weekend Saturday morning and Sunday evening return service from Edinburgh to there back in 2004 for my grandfather's 90th birthday. We had a wonderful weekend and the flight made it so straightforward

    Easyjet news

All my recent EasyJet Edinburgh experiences, and these have been numerous. Have seen me at high numbered gates 24 plus, a nightmare both for departure and arrival, it's a long walk and the two moving walkways are always running in the outbound direction, assuming they are running at all. It...

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

That's quite an interesting technical insight. Thank you. I'll confess to not fully understanding it, but it certainly adds some much-needed context to some decisions or intentions that seemed largely devoid of common sense. It's a pity the charter market or second hand is so poorly resourced at...

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

I think the above assessment Noddy is pretty accurate to be honest.

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

So then. Logic and common sense dictates, which means it will probably never happen Lewis and a smaller vessel running mull, the only requirement of the smaller vessel being to have some outside vehicle deck capacity for the transportation of hazardous goods due to Lewis's fully enclosed vehicle...

    Motorway services discussion

Not entirely sure what relevance any of this has to motorway services, but over the weekend I had an absolutely wonderful meal from a 1 star rated curry House, quite possibly the best curry I've had since I moved to my current home a couple of years ago. Reading between the lines of how these...

    Azuma seating

And given the quality, I bet many regional operations don't even buy them, and wouldn't surprise me if they had a warehouse of 50thousand of them going cheap. Just waiting for a rash of new train orders like we had being placed a decade or so back

    Azuma seating

I would have said a better use of public money would be to immediately reseat these once a better option has been identified. Logical better option would be the seating fitted to the new Avanti units, not perfect by any means, but enough to certainly make me travel standard rather than first...

    Stagecoach West Scotland

I'm sure they'll be areas where they need seat belted vehicles for schools and that could well be where the b9 vehicles disperse to. As you also point out, a lot of the single decks would be welcomed by other areas, especially the Scania

I suspect that by the end of the year they will have rolled back on their decision to sell the Lewis

2024 Tube Stock (Siemens Inspiro London)

You're going to get teething problems with any thing new, it's how those problems are then handled and managed that I think matters most here. And let's see if tfl care enough about another public relations disaster to do this one better than they have with the truly red face inducing DLR...

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

There's nothing stopping the Glenn twins accepting foot passengers should they wish to use that port. But as you say, a passenger catamaran or similar from the other would make a deal of sense. I suspect the complete looney bin decision of selling Isla Lewis will also be reversed at this point...

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

I suspect because the deli menu is more extensive than it's ever been before. They have taken this decision for the purposes of simplification

    Calmac / Northlink Ferry discussion

What's the betting that someone isn't already on the phone to the Turkish shipyard? Basically saying can we have another couple? I always thought they should have ordered six of those given how versatile they're meant to be As for Andrew Banks and petland ferries, I would certainly agree that...

    Stagecoach West Scotland

Said rat is particularly pungent as I smell it from Kent as well. Interesting and perhaps somewhat unsettling times ahead for Dumfries and Galloway residents while they work out. What's happening going forward. If I were any of the small local independent operators who are already doing great...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

This, for me at least would make the most sense for airlink buses next fleet. No doubt in another 5 or 7 years time the market for vehicles will look different again even to what it does now and they may well be able to do something a bit different
