Bus hits bridge in Winchester (10/9/20)

The height is displayed on both sides of the bridge.

London bus going through closing level crossing at Northumberland Park

Doesn't matter. A bus is a bus, regardless of who's name is printed on the side.

London bus going through closing level crossing at Northumberland Park

Not sure how it can be determined as "scot free". He got a damn sight more than the average vehicle driver would get going through a set of red traffic lights...which can be just a disastrous.

London bus going through closing level crossing at Northumberland Park

Yes but that didn't happen did it. If it did then the charge and sentence would have been more than he received.

London bus going through closing level crossing at Northumberland Park

The bus driver that ignored the lights and almost got stuck on a crossing at manningtree a few years ago found employment with another firm. Though he technically didn't cause any damage and I don't know if he was actually banned for a period.

London bus going through closing level crossing at Northumberland Park

How do you know that? There appears nothing in the judgment that precludes him from driving a commercial vehicle ever again. Edit. Why has this been moved to the other transport section forum. This is as much about the railway as it is a bus.

Male bus drivers turn up for work in skirts in protest

There really should be a summer and winter uniform option. Wearing the same thick trousers in summer as you do in winter, in a hot cab with no aircon is really not on.

Land Rover driver blocks a bus

This maybe true of many car drivers, but in the same vain there are also a few bus drivers that need to be taught that the maneuver comes after the signal, not before or during.

    Most Horrific Shifts?

I can see a typo there. Change stocktake to pi33take!

    London bus driver protest

Not really sure what there is to understand.

    Another coach crash!

Never ever heard that before and really doesn't sound right. The point of dipping the beam when you see on coming traffic is to avoid dazzling them. Fog lights in foggy conditions (and even in normal dry conditions to a certain extent) do not dazzle.

Bus driver jailed for mowing down road user he argued with

Have you actually read what you have typed??

Bus driver sacked after pub lunch

I think it's more company image then any thing else, like a police officer in uniform not being allowed to buy alcohol from a supermarket.

Bus driver sacked after pub lunch

Unfortunately I don't believe there is a distiction within the rules. The rule only states licensed premises.

    Bus drivers salary.

I can see this becoming a train driver vs bus driver thread so I think will refrain from responding to Yews post (no offence)

    Bus drivers salary.

If you paid a job purely based on how "hard" it is then I am sure a large % of the employed workforce would be paid peanuts... I know I would. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- ..and yes I agree it is crap. But that doesn't change the fact that alot of others are on a poor salary...

    Bus drivers salary.

There are significant similarities between train driving, bus driving, taxi driving, HGV and pilots. An automotive mechanic may well work with or on transport vehicles but that doesn't necessarily make it part of the transport industry in the same sense as the above professions.

    Bus drivers salary.

As far as I am concerned they are all in the transport industry.
  19. G

    Bus drivers salary.

I notice you took the higher estimation to support your argument, what about the lower end of the scale? What other people get in other industries has no relevence at all so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make?

    Bus drivers salary.

That is shockingly bad! I was expecting at least around the £15 mark. Having googled it it does seem to say between £7 and £11 which is terrible. Also found this little gem.. Now as I say, I don't know about bus driving but this woman knows **** all about train driving. Anyway back on...
