Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland - Timetables?

It's actually cheaper to join the Ffestiniog Railway Society as a member, and then benefit for free Third class travel throughout your membership year, than it is to buy a return ticket for the line. And this is before you even take into account the discounted tickets for the Welsh Highland...

    Science Museum Group Cut Backs

Nowadays it tends to be a bit more "secure" with many councils providing smart cards to people that offer various discounts / freebies.

    Science Museum Group Cut Backs

I would agree with that. It's also not uncommon overseas to provide free admission for people who live in the country, and there are also some local museums/attractions in the UK that provide free admission to people who live in the council area.

    Heritage attraction shops - donations

If Charity shops don’t accept video tapes, nobody would buy it on eBay! I was hoping to find out if it’s worth my while giving them to a Heritage attraction, but sounds as if nobody knows, so I might just try, and if not then they’ll have to be burned by the local authorities!

    Heritage attraction shops - donations

Yes I was going to do exactly this; most Heritage railways I’ve been to seem to have an area usually by the depot where they sell donations like magazines etc. I was only asking because no normal charity shops seem to take VHSs any more because there’s no market for them, so I was wondering if...

    Heritage attraction shops - donations

Having a clear out and have come across a few VHS tapes, mostly drivers eye view but also a few other railway publications. Most normal charity shops don’t take video tapes anymore but does anyone know if Heritage railways or other attractions accept these as donations for their shops and...

TRIVIA: Community rail services on heritage railways

In January 2011, Go! Co-operative planned to operate a Parry People Mover on part of the Mid Hants Railway to provide a commuter service, on a trial basis, connecting with Mainline services at Alton. The trial never actually started due to reported mechanical difficulties with the unit. Looking...

West London parking for Buffer Puffer

Hillingdon is definitely the best place to park, I have parked there on a number of occasions when coming from the west along the M4. The station is less than a minute from the A40.

What is the current penalty for trespassers, and what should it be?

Is this really the best use of limited BTP resources? I can't imagine stopping a train on the main line would be particularly good either.

Royal Mail underground railway to reopen Summer 2017

What's the LTM got to do with it? The article linked to by the OP says it's part of the Postal Museum.

    Steam on the Met 2015

There were some delays on the Sunday, at least. One Piccadilly line train was cancelled between South Harrow and Uxbridge due to the steam train running.

    Chinnor and Risborough Railway

When I was a member of the Railway when I lived in the area a few years ago there was plenty of talk about extending into Princes Risborough. From their webpage it seems now just to be a cost issue - http://www.cprra.co.uk/index.html; click on "Risborough" on the left-hend menu. The bus service...
