What on earth happened to this train at Piccadilly this morning!? It was being shown on boards from around half past at platform 3, which was occupied by 350 407 arpu d that time. The at arpund 0645 a platform alteration to P14 was announced, which was odd! The train arrived in P14 and departed westward at exactly the same time as the 06:50 ATW to Llandudno Jn... despatched 4 minutes early. I can see why; the throughput of trains here at this tine of day is clearly critical; and had it waited for 0654 my own train, the 0653 to Clitheroe would obviously have been delayed.
Left a number of people on the bridge and stairs on what they felt a 'wild goose chase' though clearly! Why did it need to be sent that way? It was so strange to see 2 trains leaving from 13 and 14 at the same time and in the same direction!
