Saw this service on RTT today, so took the dog for a walk to see it pass through Wetheral, was a tad surprised to see this was a TransPenine Express train?

Any ideas why it would run under a 3Q headcode? I was always under the belief that these are test trains!

If that’s so, seems random to be in Cumbria, en-route from Newcastle to Manchester?

Surely it would/should travel down the ECML, assuming it was stabled at Newcastle for whatever reason?

Could just be path availability, or even it needed to be done via the WCML because that’s the only route an available 802 trained ROG driver signed

I wouldn’t read too much into it going WCML vice ECML
