Can anyone recommend suitable accommodation that is reasonably affordable at either Porthmadog, or a location within easy walking distance of a station on the Cambrian Coast line?

It would be for a Saturday night.

Also does anyone know what the Summer timetable on the Cambrian Coast will be like, on Saturdays and Sundays?

I would imagine the Saturday and Sunday timetable will be identical to last Summer.

If it's any station on the Cambrian Coast Line, I could highly recommend the Penhelig Arms which is right next to Penhelig Halt near Aberdovey. Iam afraid it's not particularly cheap but you do get what you pay for, it has a full scale restaurant but the attached Fishermans bar also serves great quality food and decent ales, the rooms are also well equipped and spotlessly clean, mostly with lovely sea/estuary views with a couple at the rear where you can almost touch the passing 158s:) couldn't be handier for the station though!

Last time I was in Porthmadog I stayed in the Royal Sportsman Hotel, 131, High Street, Porthmadog. It is situated between the National Rail and Ffestiniog Railway station and an easy 10 minute work from either station.

There are cheaper B&Bs in Porthmadog which I have stayed at in the past but have lost their contact details.

I have stayed in Tywyn at Monfa Guest House, which is 5 mins walk from the station

also at Sunningdale Guest House , High Street, Tywyn tel- 01654 710248

Depending on the timetable and what we plan to do, Tywyn could be ideal.
