Advance single ticket - Thameslink/LNER

I have an advance single ticket from Hitchin - Stevenage - York tomorrow.

I am able to get a lift to go straight to Stevenage so don’t need to take the train from Hitchin - Stevenage. Am I allowed to do this on an advance single ticket?
